Seems a number of OTs on that list. I wonder if one of those gets drafted.

Here is Scout's Inc's analysis of Armstead:

What he brings: He is an outstanding run defender with his elite combination of size, length and power. He didn't produce much as a pass-rusher but offers good upside in that area, and he was much more disruptive at moving quarterbacks off their spots than his low sack totals would indicate. His motor was a little up and down at Oregon. How he fits: Justin Smith's decision whether or not to retire will have a big impact here. The 49ers also signed Darnell Dockett, and 2013 second-round pick Tank Carradine could take the next step this year. However, the 34-year-old Dockett is coming off a season-ending ACL injury, and Carradine, who sat out his rookie season recovering from his own ACL injury, played in only nine games last year. In addition, Armstead's ability to anchor against the run at 5-technique and reduce inside to rush the passer makes him a good fit for new defensive coordinator Eric Mangini, who values versatility.
Draft Results
Overall Football Traits
Production 3 2012 (13/1): 26-2-0.52013 (13/5): 15-3-1 2014 (13/13): 46-5.5-2.5
Height-Weight-Speed 1 Elite height-weight combination. Well-proportioned with muscular frame, long arms and big hands. Straight out of central casting. Has adequate straight-line speed for size.
Durability 3 In 2014, missed two full games and significant portions of two other games in the middle of the season due to left ankle/leg injuries.
Intangibles 3 Pronounced: eh-rick. Played basketball and football for the Ducks as a freshman before focusing solely on football during second year. A self-motivator. Works hard in weight room. Parents are Christa and Guss Armstead. Father trains NBA players.
1 = Exceptional2 = Above average3 = Average4 = Below average5 = Marginal
Defensive End Specific Traits
Pass Rush Skills 3 Good first-step quickness for size. Plays with powerful hands and consistently knocks offensive linemen on heels with initial punch. Effectively converts speed-to-power and frequently walks offensive lineman back into quarterback. Tough to handle one-on-one because of length, power and violent hands. Can do a better job of finishing. Needs to improve counter moves when reached. Also gets into trouble when pads rise (which happens most when he wears down or fails to win initially). Has long arms but needs to show better awareness to disrupt passing lanes (0 pass breakups in 2014).
Versus the run 1 Long and powerful with violent hands. Above-average lower-body strength. Surprisingly flexible and plays with good leverage for height. Frequently drives offensive linemen back with initial contact. Has very little trouble disengaging once he's located the ball. Good redirect skills for length. Makes a lot of plays in his gap and adjacent gaps. Does a good job of protecting lower body. Lacks ideal burst and doesn't make many plays in space. Will also lose contain on occasion.
Versatility 2 Primary position is a 5-technique in a 3-4 defense, which projects as his best fit in NFL. But is also very capable of playing LDE in four-man front, as well as reducing to 3-technique on obvious passing downs. Has limited experience dropping into underneath coverage on zone blitz.
Instincts/Motor 2 Violent and physical player at the point of attack. Motor can run a bit hot and cold. Rarely takes full plays off but does fail to finish sometimes when he doesn't win initially and/or the play is away from him.

Move up as high as needed in the 2nd round to get DGB. It would be awesome if we could stay pat and get him.
Do you think that is likely? I don't.

Also what about La'el Collins? With Iupati gone and Boone grumpy we could use him. That is the strangest thing I've ever seen in a draft, to get questioned about a murder right before it?!? I think he was in Chicago at the time of the murder. Very odd. When Collins requested to withdraw from the draft and go in the supplemental draft was that an honest withdrawal or just a ploy to save face?

Had to get that out of my system. So who do the experts at NFL Network have us picking next? I guess we just go with that.

I want DGB to. Collins I would take a chance on him with one of the 4th rd picks. talk around NFL is he might not get drafted or be really late. He would be a steal late in the draft. If he doesn't pan out oh well.

The Niners could use some more speed at the WR spot but a big physical red zone presence wouldn't hurt either.

One hour to go and then draft starts. At least this should go quicker. I think it is rounds two and three today

Some mocks have DGB picked before the 9ers pick. Do the 9ers trade up or hold for the BPA at this spot in round 2?

I'd stay where we are for DGB. It'll take at least a 4th if not more to move up and we do fairly well drafting mid rounds. With his character issues I wouldn't want to bust 2 or more picks on him if he didn't pan out and turned into Ray Rice or Josh Gordon 2.0. Jaelen Strong would be my consolation prize.
