Raw. This draft is weird.

You have 2 QBs with lots of ??? and lots of upside.
You have a bunch of great pass rushers who are too light to do much against the run.
You have a very talented space eaters who probably won't rush the passer much.
You have a couple of great run blocking oline prospects that probably can't play LT.
You have 2 good running backs with no one looking for running backs

The best player in the draft will be Williams, Gurley, DGB, Winston or Mariota. The safest player in the draft is Cooper. Thats all I got.

Very good assessment. There are so many ?'s this year.

My general assessment would be: 3-4 teams should draft defense in the first round and 4-3 teams should draft offense in the first round.

Mariota will flop.

I still think Winston goes #1 overall. Best QB prospect in a while outside of his attitude problems. Sadly I don't think Tampa is the right place for him lol.

I do not envy any team who takes either one of those guys and puts them in the starting lineup week 1. Maybe Mariota in Philly would be alright but if he ends up somewhere else I'm just not sure he'd be ready to start right away. Winston is going to be a cancer wherever he goes IMO.

How do you guys see Danny Shelton? He seemed extremely overrated to me.

I was actually having trouble searching for upside in his game. He's slow, he struggles to read the play well, he allows opposing offensive lineman under him way too easily, he looked out of shape at times during the season.

Hell, the only positive I really did end up finding was that he's a space eater

I think you're looking at him more as a DE instead of as a pure NT. As just a NT, I think he has some legitimate upside. I see a lot of Casey Hampton in him, personally.

He looked like a pretty good NT, but the biggest issue with that is that he played in a 4-3 defense for the majority of the year which in turn had him playing as a DT.

I'd be scared to take Shelton in the 1st, I wouldn't touch him until the mid 2nd really

Maybe Geno Smith could take him under his wing in New York?

Yeah I would agree with the Winston comment. Not sure about Mariota, needs the right coaching staff to succeed.

Jameis Winston not only has character flags, he has fitness flags. I love some of the anticipation he shows with his throws, but man, taking him high would be a colossal risk. Mariota may be a risk too but at least he is a boy scout who is in shape.

Winston: bust
Mariota: Kaepernick 2.0 (probably a little better 'cause Kaep is a turd).
Amari Cooper looks like a rich man's Michael Crabtree; overrated.
Danny Shelton: overrated.
Leonard Williams: beast
Jalen Collins: overrated. Like PJ Williams more.
Devin Smith: great at high-pointing the ball. See some ODB in him, but his overall game isn't as good.
Bret Hundley: sucks.
Quandre Diggs: underrated.

Like WRs Montgomery & Hardy in the later rounds. Phillip Dorsett is Santana Moss 2.0.

Like Sean Mannion in the later rounds; good accuracy.
Bryce Petty has an incredibly quick release. Potential; not there yet.

Seriously Winston looks like a 40 year old softball beer league player, not a top 5 draft pick.

Those calfs are amazing. He must be on the Joe Montana Bird Leg Workout Program. Good to see a prospect for the NFL has a bigger gut than I do!

Seattle needs WR and TE. Wilson has no weapons.

Gordon is the best RB in this draft but might slip into the second round.

(sorry for repo, had multiple tabs up :L)

The issue with Seattle's WR's is that there is no #1, not that there's nothing... like the Chiefs (I am betting on Bowe being a june 1st cut)

  • Baldwin is an adequate #2
  • Kearse is an adequate #3, if you're really picky, he might be a 4.
  • Still guys like Norwood and Richardson in the wings.

Seattle doesn't really have a "need" per se unless you want a pure and true #1 on that team.

Best thing to ever happen to Rodgers. Not sure he's the same guy if he starts day 1.
I think that's the best plan for any rookie QB. Being a 1st round pick starting for a bottom tier team is a tried and proven recipe for failure. Why don't these teams realize that yet?
