How lucky can we get? Honduras was so much better yet we won. Got caught with our pants down on D several times and the midfielders kept giving the ball away despite getting little pressure. And then the times we did mount an attack, there was hardly anyone forward to make something of it.

I don't think we played like complete shit. The ref was literally doing nothing to help us. He gave Honduras their first yellow with 4 minutes left in the game. Sooooo many missed fouls imo.

Disagree. We took advantage of our opportunities, they sucked with their shots. Any other ref may have given them more then one yellow. Too many fouls on them went uncalled imo.

That being said, Honduras definitely gave it all they had. They were the quicker team for sure. But their rough play was allowed today. And the US players seemed to lay there expecting a call and when it didn't come, Honduras was already on the attack.

Shaky game for sure. Defense looked completely out of sorts, Beckerman and Yedlin didn't play very great in the midfield, and as I mentioned earlier, I hate our offensive philosophy when it's Jozy and Deuce up top. As we get out of group stage, I'd expect (hope) to see Mix instead of either Beckerman or Yedlin.

Guzan played well and it was good to see Clint finish his chances having been out for a while.

Remainder of the group shouldn't be as tough.

Panama can be annoying. They always play us tough and actually beat us in the group stage of the 2011 gold cup

He's always held the ball too much. Decent defending mid, but plays much to slowly and isn't a creator.

1st half observations

Bradley needs more touches, perhaps Beckermans lack of physical skill creates issues for Bradley forcing him to cover more space.

Love Yedlin, but he's so raw and composure could make him elite one day

Altidore settled down, but if his first touch is not more consistent, then what's the point?

Chandler's service was awful.

Back line was okay.

Zardes is so raw, needs a lot of seasoning.

Ultimately, we played into Honduras style and let them dictate. And if our on ball defending does not improve, we could give one up. Honduras taking a page out of the old US book, bunker mode and counter. We are such the superior side talent wise, but lucky to be up 1.

I honestly don't know how he got in the starting lineup for this game. Dude is a hot head and gives up a lot of stupid penalties.

Beckerman isn't going anywhere until the USMNT finds a better replacement at the holding central midfield position. In order for Bradley to play at his full potential, Beckerman has to be in the game.

I was hoping Bobby Wood would take Wondo's roster spot, but 1860 Munich asked him to stay for preseason.

I wonder why Green couldn't take his spot. Is he really that, well, green? He couldn't be any worse than Wondo and at least he (or any other youngster) could actually have a future with the team. Basically, you're right. Wondo doesn't need to be on the national team anymore. Anyone else is better
