Sakera to Edmonton given them some respectability on the back end. 5.5M per... still waiting for $$$ in SJ, hopefully under 5M for martin and Id be happy. 4 years, 16M would be perfect.

Idont mind that term as long as the $$ arent too big. Its for years 34, 35, 36, and 37. if its 5M per, then its way too much but 4M per is just about right.

Health is gunna be a big issue, but if the number is reasonable, then it's not a high risk signing. Either way, he's alot better than hannan so the D is now better, one way or another. Its also good to get such a solid vet who is able to play some real minutes. Should be interesting to watch and clearly dougie wanted him big time.

Also, would this be the biggest UFA signing in Doug Wilson history???

I dont see this as parrallel to brad stuart. Stuart was never great defensively and the sharks got him after he was minus player in 4 of the prior 6 years. Martin is a much much better defensive player IMO, and while health is the key issue, if he is healthy and in the lineup, he's good for 20-22 mins/gm of solid defense.

Pitt was 3rd in the league in PK. Martin played alot of those minutes and had great PK goals against/60 minutes numbers. This signing has great subtle pieces too...

All depends on $$ and health.
