I don't even know if we own this years 1st round pick, but prob not, so might as well hope to make playoffs.., but if we're not near 100% healthy it will be a round 1 loss.

Riley has made some bad choices the last 2 summers.
What he does at the trade deadline, combined with his Whiteside decision and his Wade budget next summer will be interesting to see play out.
Riley has to make the decision whether to sign Whiteside at the trade deadline. That of course will be a huge decision- dont do what the Lakers did with Howard and Gasol and get nothing for him if he is not coming back.

I wonder what the ideal haul would be for Whiteside...as a Heat fan- if they dealt him- what kind of assets would you want Riley to get? Win-now guys? Young guys? big men?

The cap is going up- but this is the first year i think Wade is really showing some signs of decline- all though- i have to give him credit for playing through some bumps and bruises and not missing any games until just recently. Its such a fascinating decision on Wade. Even with the cap going up to say 90 million or whatever it is...paying a guy 20 million a year is a lot. Would another team really break the bank for Wade?- or would they just be bidding against themselves? and would Wade REALLY leave because of money?....your very right in that itll be very interesting.

Nobody's trading anything for Whiteside because he'll be an UFA this summer.
Nobody's bidding on Wade or giving him 20M.
Wade is hindering Dragics game.
If you're not keeping Whiteside, then you need pieces that fit with Bosh and Dragic.

I was just laughing to myself as i immediately was thinking of contenders that could want a rim protector- and of course I thought of the Cavs..ha...I think Riley would rather eat a shitburger before dealing with the Cavs- and the Cavs really dont have anything the Heat would want I wouldnt think.

I forogt that Whiteside doesnt have his bird rights either....man if at least his bird rights traveled in the trade then you could get something....maybe its a just a chip you cash in...like i said- Toronto has a likely late lotto pick....take like the 12th pick for him? Or just keep him and sign him...

your right...that is really tough...man. It really goes to show you how huge it was for Miami to get a good pick and then luck out and have a very solid prospect drop...just getting one of those guys really helps going forward.

Boston is actually a GREAT fit with a coach i think would be really good for Whiteside and they have a ton of young players and assets....

Tyler Zeller and a 1st round pick would not be a bad deal at all...either that or Sullinger if you would prefer him-.or probably even Turner if youd want him...

Did you know that Riley backed out of 2 Cole trades last year cause a 3rd team involved would have landed Cole in Cleveland?

IF they know they are going to let him walk, then I agree, they might be able to get something of value for a team that feels they are close this year.
It won't be the Cavs though.

yah thats why i said that--- no way in hell there are any dealings between the two...i think there is a LOT of bad blood behind the scenes on both sides.

Holy shit:

Michael WallaceESPN Staff Writer

Aside from last year's season-ending treatment for blood clots, I don't recall seeing Chris Bosh more dejected and defeated than he was during post game interviews after last night's loss in Washington. "I'm not even sure who we're going to have in Toronto," Bosh said of the injury-ravaged Heat entering Friday's game against the Raptors. Among the Heat's wounded are Goran Dragic (calf), Dwyane Wade (shoulders), Luol Deng (eye), Hassan Whiteside (hip/abdomen, knee), Beno Udrih (neck), Josh McRoberts (knee) and Chris Andersen (knee).

Now, the other an Gundy is whining about hack-a-whomever after Drummond got the treatment.
It seems like they cannot got 2 weeks without some soapbox diatribe about intentionally fouling.
Make you free throws and shut up already Van Gundys.

What is with those whiny fucks and their crusade against something that is entirely legal and strategically valuable. Nobody is turning off the TV sets because of it.

Shaq made them when he needed to make them.
Duncan and Karl Malone actually worked on their and became relatively decent instead of liabilities.

Make 59% and nobody will foul you. Make 41% and you will get fouled.
It is simple. That is an embarrassingly low standard for a well paid NBA player.

Bingo!

If you miss 23 free throws in one game, you deserve to get hacked every time you touch the ball.

I'm just not sure how shooting unguarded from the line, with the backboard to HELP guide the ball, is so difficult for guys.

^^^THIS^^^

As a Lakers fan, I hated the Hack-A-Shaq. But the only bitching I ever did about it was towards Shaq for missing them. As you point out, he at least go to where he would hit them when he needed to and that all but stopped it.

Timmy and Malone were horrible. But they worked, improved and while neither was ever going to have the highest free throw percentage, no one intentionally fouled them anymore either.

The Heat injury report. Since this was tweeted, Whiteside and Dragic were both downgraded to out

I can vouch for that...:heh:

Obviously Beas will never come close to living up to the expectations that you would hope for from the number 2 pick in a draft class.
However, I watch the NBA nightly, all teams at some point or another, and there is no way on earth you can tell me that he isn't better then some players on every roster in the league.

I agree. I really don't get how no one is giving the guy a shot. There are probably at least 2 players on every team that he's better than and more on some.
