Tonight Winslow played 26 minutes and had 2 points on 1 of 5 shooting....vaguely recalling many other box scores -maybe not as bad- but similar- wanted to look at it a little more closely.

I have compared Justice Winslow to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist---- saying that they are both athletic small forwards- similar size- that MKG probably had more athletic ability and defensive upside (not meant as a slight- i just think MGK could ran a string of 1st team defenses together and top 3 DPOY finishes), but his shot was a whole lot worse than Winslow's when they both came into the NBA- I think that Winslow probably had more upside offensively.

With that in mind- MKG shot has shot about 46% for his career....46%, 47%, and 47% in his 3 seasons- and he shoots NO three pointers so its not like a true shooting stat would add too much to that....not ideal for a small forward but not bad.

Justice Winslow is shooting UNDER 39%- and rarely takes 3's- of which he is shooting 24% on....thats really hard to do ..especially when you take such a low volume of shots. If a guy is high volume, and shoots a lot of 3's and is putting up 20- then sometimes you can look passed a low shooting percentage....but shit...I dont know if i could come up with a guy that has been that absolutely atrocious offensively this year- i understand its not his role at all- but usually guys like that who get limited touches playing with big offensive threats get open looks and have inflated shooting percentages. Do you know how hard it is to have a PER of under 7?

Miami is getting it done defensively--- im not sure what it is now after that pathetic drubbing by Golden State- but only the Cavs and SAS gave up less points a game than Miami- obviously Winslow is adding value on the defensive side, but it sure looks like he is just tanking the offense.

Scoring 79 at home against a Bucks defense that has been atrocious this year is not good- all though- i do have to say I think the Bucks matchup well against the Heat.

Miami doesn't have their 2 point guards. It is not a coincidence that Miami's 2 lowest scoring games of the season came in the last 2 games where their only 2 true point guards were out of the lineup due to injury. Turnovers are significantly up as well since Dragic and Beno went down.

In a half court offense the PG is very key as he is the one organizing everything and getting guys in the right places

trust me- I am as shocked as you- but have you seen how well Mario Chalmers has been playing lately in Memphis? Good thing you guys didnt need another credible back court player. Arison's gotta save that $

I'm not shocked. Chalmers is a good player. Always said he was. He needed the change of scenery though. And Beno is not bad at all so that's not issue and is actually more of a true PG than Chalmers. He's not going to score much unless he gets the start but he does of a good job of running the team as a back up PG

Chalmers is Chalmers.
Him being gone wasn't the problem.
No way to predict that both pgs and Wade would all get injured the same week.
Tyler couldn't even barely get to half court last night, but he's not and has never been a PG.

Heat could really use the all star break right now, but it is what it is.

Yeah its the reason why I'm not too pissed. I think we beat the Clippers (considering DJ was out) and Milwaukee if we had Dragic. I just hope these guys come back soon but yeah hard to win when your 2 PGs are out and the other ball handler is dealing with shoulder issues

@WiggyRuss

How many times have you said that Chalmers was the worst player in the league if he has to play 30+ MPG?
Now you say Arison should have tied up current and future tax implications to keep him?
You're such a hypocrite.

Perhaps you should re watch the Cavs/Warriors game and evaluate your own team issues.

 at Wiggy being butthurt about the Cavs getting their asses kicked by 34 on their homecourt in a "statement game" and trying to take it out on the Heat.

How predictable.

i really wonder if people read my comments- did i not say i was shocked chalmers was playing decently?- and seriously Beno? FING! BENO!. lol...i thought he was gonna get cut as soon as the trade went down- and i think you guys did too.

and seriously- Heat have been playing very good D- and Winslow is def a part of that- but holy crap- i have not seen a guy that totally inept offensively since Andrew DeClerq. lol.

haha...hey hey...dont get me started on the Lakers- your boy Jordan Clarkson has gone in the TANK after having a strong start to the season. He was shooting over 40% from 3 for a while if i remember- and is already down to 32% after having absolutely abysmal months the last 2 months- not only from 3- but from the field as well. A Dion-Waiters-like assist-to-turnover ratio of almost 1-1 is pretty awful too. Last year Clarkson was not exactly an assist machine- but in 25 minutes a game he averaged 3.5

(cont.) but in 25 minutes a game he averaged 3.5 assists last year--- this year - in over 32 minutes a game he is averagining 2.4 assists. He is averagining 1.9 turnovers a game- which isnt bad for a guy handling the ball a decent amount of the time- but an assist to turnover ratio of bascially 1-1 makes Dion Waiters look like Steve Nash.

Then why say Arison got rid of Chalmers as a cash saving move vs a prudent move?

You're too obsessed with a 19 year old rookie who everyone knew would struggle on offense. Find another topic to talk about. The obsession with Winslow is a little creepy.

Get your shots in on the Lakers now.
Here's what I think is going to happen.
Durant signs a 1 yr max next year to set himself up
for the supermax in '17.
That puts him on the same contract schedule as Westbrook.
In '17 they both go to Lakers.

Once again do not talk about the Heat because you do not watch games. Beno is a better true point guard than Chalmers. Chalmers is a much better player but PG is not his natural position. He is an undersized SG.

because that kinda looks how it turned out doesnt it?

Not at all.
We have 0 more wins if Chalmers were here.
Our problem is our bench bigs all suck.
Injuries are part of the season.
Just unfortunate timing that all 3 ball handlers are down at the same time.

Wiggy hyping up Rio after shitting on him the last year. Wiggy is one of those losers who will shit on every Heat player then when they go to another team he would act like they're the best thing since slice bread
