it ended up getting the Cavs basically Tyler Zeller, and part of the way to that Russian that was supposed to be decent but hasnt done anything....Zeller is actually a pretty darn good rotational big in my estimation- if he could get the run. But yah- nothing too too significant.

Yeah, that's why the Lakers were willing to part with it. They knew that the chances of getting a player who would actually contribute were pretty slim, so no big deal.

Probably about like Kobe's.
25 out of 60 is catastrophic compar

well the a similar thing got you Nance----

guys taken AFTER Zeller in that draft

-Draymond Green, Khris Middleton, Jae Crowder, Festus Ezeli, Marquis Teague, Jared Sullinger, Miles Plumlee, Terrence Jones.

So yah- is it likely to hit on a big time rotation contributor? Of Course not- but there is value to those picks without a doubt.

Green obviously is a game changer

but Middleton, Teague are both really really good players----- and Crowder, Ezeli, Sullinger, Jones are all very good rotation players.

True. But it's not like anyone knew how good Green would be. Plus, the Lakers were in a different place at that time. They had just won a title in 2010 and were trying to continue that, so they were willing to part with draft picks for vets with a chance to contribute. Didn't really work out the way they had hoped, but can't really question the logic.

I would say he DID do that and added it to his game- from information you yourself have said on here- trying to adapt the "Pat Riley winning ways"....

I think what LeBron did- instituting a total culture change- that started probably BEFORE he even formally announced he was coming to Cleveland is a bigger accomplishment then adding a post game. LeBron brought in his guys- Miller, Jones, etc. - and like a CEO - affected a total change of direction for the whole franchise. To me that is VERY VERY significant when you are dealing with the situation LeBron walked into with a coach that never coached in the NBA at any level, a total lack of "winning-know-how" between his most important teammates, in between major roster upheavals and injuries.

To me- that is probably the best work LeBron has done in a lot of ways.

I'll agree that bringing the knowledge he learned here with him is important to your championship hopes, but come on, don't even try to tell me that's what you meant when you said he improved his game every year.

you agree with a b- and what they say of whiteside or would you have a higher (or lower) grade?

it surprises me that hte lineup of Wade, Dragic, Deng, Bosh, Whiteside has been outscored while its on the court....

Miami Heat

Haberstroh: Compared to last season's miserable season, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will take the cards he's been dealt this season a thousand times over. But that doesn't mean it's been smooth sailing at 601 Biscayne Blvd. With a relatively clean bill of health, he's had to juggle the egos of Goran Dragic, Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside. It's revealing that this hyped starting lineup has been outscored this season while on the floor.
They still have to figure out what they have in Whiteside, who's a 7-foot Rorschach test and a free agent this summer. He currently co-owns the best block rate in NBA history (tied with Manute Bol) and dunks practically everything he catches near the rim. But at the same time, the Heat improve immensely on defense when he goes to the bench and he is categorically allergic to passing.
Elsewhere, Tyler Johnson and Justise Winslow have anchored a surprisingly powerful bench unit, but with the starting lineup sputtering on offense, the Heat's season feels oddly underwhelming despite a cupcake schedule that had them at home for 19 of their first 28 games.
Haberstroh's grade: B- | Panel's grade: B-

That shouldn't surprise anyone. They did not start playing good together until middle of December

I think all of it is fair.

What I see nightly, is not what I expected to see.

Wade was willing to defer to James , which was a no brainer.
He and Dragic can't get on the same page.

Whiteside is the enigma.
So much there, but so much more potentially is still out there, plus the question marks.
Like Ive said for a while now, hes a freakish, unique talent, but I don't see the Heat willing to give him a max

Hawks got themselves a big divisional match up today with Orlando. As tight and competitive the East is this year, every game is extremely important right now.

They've really underachieved this year. That wouldn't be a big deal if this year was last recent years, but now there are plenty of good teams in this conference. Wizards need to get their act together and fast if they want to make the Playoffs.

Yeah. Washington and Detroit both lose today. Hoping Boston lose tonight as well. The Heat best days are off days when the other teams in the east lose

That and they dumped Luke's salary. That's why they had to give up the 1st rounder.

Looking forward to the evening games, GS vs. Cleveland anyway. What's up with the pussies in Cleveland being so offended by Steph's comment?

Meh. They should be. I don't really have a problem with Steph making that comment if he wants to, but I'd be disappointed in the cavs if they didn't take it personally.

It was a generic comment. Certainly not a shot at the Cavs.

James was the one taking subtle backhanded jabs at the Warriors buy making statements such as them 'being the healthiest team he'd ever seen', etc.., etc.. instead of just giving them credit for earning the championship.

Man, the Sixers are hot right now. I didn't know until just now that they are up to 5 wins already.
