why just leave your cap room open? rent it out to other teams and get some assets....just an example is that Kings/Sixers deal.
I mean shit- Jason Thompson is probably a better player than Brandon Bass- so you tie up like 6-7 million in cap room next year? Shit- at hte trade deadline if you would give Thompson some playing time and he shows something you might even be able to unload him in his walk year and get another 2nd rounder or something.
It just shows that some teams are willing to be creative and spend on "problem" players in order to acquire assets to hasten their rebuilding process.
Quit talking like the Cavs FO ever mapped out any sort of plan that would have ever got them close to winning anything if James didn't return there.
All the moves the Cavs made prior to them winning the Wiggins lotto were made with the thought process of not having James return.
Like we've said, it was blind luck, which in turn lead James into knowing he could turn that pick into Love which I would say was the most major factor, roster wise, that swayed his decision.
