Reports ( whatever that means) are that Whiteside wants to stay here.
Only thing that I can think of that might salvage the loss of Bosh would be if Wade agrees to play for next to nothing next year, with the understanding it will be made up to him in '17 when the salary cap makes that huge leap.
well from what i believe the salary cap has the biggest jump this year from 70 to 90...i think it is estimated to jump to about 100 the following year.....i dunno...itll be interesting to see....i dont know why Wade would agree to play for next to nothing or why the heat would agree to give him a balloon payment 2 years from now not too mention that kind of thing is not exactly legal.

Even if it's 90, subtract Bosh's number ( if he retires), and the Heat need to field a roster spending in the mid 60s.
Good luck with that.
As far as Wade, does he really want his last few years to play out like Kobe's?

As far as the draft picks, teams view them totally differently based on situation.
When you have a chance to win, you go all in.
For the Heat, it was worth it at the time. We had a run any franchise would love to have the last decade.
Same with the Lakers.

You guys accumulated a ton of assets, but basically gutted them since James returned.
If you win a ring, it's worth it, if not your fucked for a long time.

i dont think its out of the realm of possibility that Wade signs like a 2 year 30 million dollar deal or something like that.....i think itll PROBABLY be more than that- especially with the rising cap- but if he did take 2 years 30 it wouldnt blow me away....i dont see anything less than that under just about any circumstance. If Bosh really retires- which i think that discussion is premature at this point- might Wade just leave? He could prob go home to Chicago and play with Jimmy Butler pretty easy..

Next season is also already lost for us.
Even if Bosh retires we take a full cap hit for his next years salary.
I heard the rule is team takes full cap hit until a year after retirement.
Wonder what Wades thinking.
Very depressing day for Heat fans.
I thought if he retires due to injury that his remaining salary doesn't count against the cap anymore.

Team takes the hit for 365 days from the day it's announced is what they were saying on the radio.
Must be a rule to prevent collusion.

I've stated that I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to leave, and certainly wouldn't hold it against him, unless he went to the Cavs.

James dumped him.
Let James figure out how to win without him.

Oh wow. I didn't hear anything like that when the Lakers were dealing with Nash's back injuries. Most Laker fans were hoping he would retire citing injury so we'd at least have cap space to replace him.

It is pretty terrible to hear he may have to retire-when we consider how much basketball he still had left to play. Feel bad for all you heat fans.

Good point.
I always thought that was how it worked, but today, since this has been going on, I've heard the 1 year hit thing multiple times.

what is the latest word on Bosh? I havent seen any national updates- anything local of significance come out different then has already been discussed?

Just that they've put him on blood thinners.

This is how I feel as well. Go to Chicago and team up with that team and hopefully get them a title. Outside of Cleveland, I'd support Wade wherever he'd go.

If Bosh retires, we're in for a long rebuild. The Heat certainly are on a very difficult road. It looks like we're thrust into where the Lakers are immediately if Bosh is forced to retire.

I'm pretty sure I figured out the difference.
Nash had a player option.
If he didn't opt in, then the Lakers would have had that cap space.
Bosh is in the middle of a contract.

Gotcha. That makes all the difference!

He would be torched if he went to the Cavs.

I would love to see him go to the Spurs if Manu left.
