Spurs, Warriors, and OKC are standing pat. They all know they have enough to win the title with the current roster.

In all seriousness its just funny to me. This team on paper is more complete than any of LBJ Miami teams but yet they're much more desperate to make moves during the deadline.
they def feel a sense of urgency....we are not facing the Dallas Mavs or something inthe Finals....or even OKC...like they were saying on TNT the other day in a "normal year" teams like the Cavs and OKC could/would be on a collision course as 2 really really good teams--- instead- we have 2 other teams that for the first time in the history of the league have that few combined losses by the al lstar break.....

Cavs can beat them- but not playing the style they were playing under Blatt---- they need to implement a REAL system and actually STICK to it- and if they think there is a move they can make to better that- so much the better

having said that- i doubt they do anything-- i think the are saving that roster spot for a buyout guy- lets hope its JJ...

Yeah, this is what I just replied to bk. The more I think about it, though... I hope the Cavs don't overreact to the pressure of facing the Warriors or Spurs. I definitely don't want them resting on their laurels (they don't really have any to rest on anyways)... but I don't want them to go too far the other way either.

well the thing is- that "resting on their laurels" is probably better than making a trade in some ways.

Mozgov is better than Koufous---- with Jr Smith- and say they get a buyout guy like JJ- they dont even need McLemore at all..

a trade of Mozgov and 1st rounder and a trade exception for Koufous and McLemore is more about NEXT year when they are afraid Mozgov and Smith might leave.

if they stand pat- thats more indicative of them going all out- if they make that deal- its a hedge in a way.....

Varejao has been playing well lately so i think they could afford to move Mozgov if they found the right deal.

Yeah... I didn't mean that I don't want them to stand pat. I just meant I don't want them feel no urgency or to not explore opportunities. If they explore opportunities and Griffin decides to stand pat... great.

I do actually feel very comfortable with the current roster.

Nice way to try to discredit the Heat.
We'll never know , but I think the Spurs team from 2 years ago was better then last years Warriors in the Finals, and pretty easily.

This team on paper is more complete than any of LBJ Miami teams but yet they're much more desperate to make moves during the deadline.

To be fair, Miami had a bigger window of opportunity than the Cavs. They got "prime Lebron James." The Cavs got "starting his decline Lebron James." While the Cavs current version of him is still pretty damn good, he's not the player Miami had.

The Cavs don't have the time to experiment or wait for the off-season. As currently constructed, they appear to be good enough to get out of the East, but not good enough to beat the teams they are most likely to see in the finals. They have to make any and all roster changes that they can whenever they can.

I do agree though, it is kind of fun to tweak them with the "How much help does Lebron need?" comments. :dhd:

They got "prime Lebron James." The Cavs got "starting his decline Lebron James."

I wonder if I can charge Lebron a percentage on the marketing opportunity I just gave him?

In his Heat uniform: "I'm prime Lebron James and I have Directv."

In his Cavs uniform: "and I'm starting his decline Lebron James and I have cable."

Ok, so I definitely carry some bias on the issue...

But Al Horford in the all-star game over Love??? What possible angle is there to justify that?

i was surprised but i wasnt. they love to screw over the Cavs....i really dont understand the explanation for this one though. Horford was not even having that great a year....Love seems to have the better body of work- and of course is on the 1st place team that only had 1 all star...

how they give a guy with worse stats from a team that is far worse is beyond me...but at this point its almost too be expected-- i understood GAsol- hes been playing GREAT...i understood Milsap being picked ahead- hes having a career year---- Horford was bullshit.

Love and Horford stats are basically the same. Big difference being Horford is a much more efficient scorer (51% to 41% for Love) and Love is a much better rebounder ( 10 RPG to 7 RPG). Horford actually has a higher PER than Love as well so please cut the bullshit out. You Cavs fans need to stop acting like Love deserve it more than Horford. It was basically a flip of a coin between the 2. That is how close their numbers are. This has nothing to do with screwing over the Cavs. 2 players had very similar numbers and they decided to take player A over player B. Cry me a river.

The only reason the Cavs only had 1 AS is because Kyrie did not play until December 20th. Kyrie would have been starting if he would have came back a month earlier. What were they supposed to do? Love clearly did not deserve to be chosen as one of the 7 reserves. Were they supposed to hand Love a spot over one of the other 7 well deserved reserves because the Cavs are the top team in the East? You pick All Stars based on an individual performance over the first half of the season. Your team record does not determine if you're an all star or not. Your performance as an individual does

I love the cherry picking.... 41.7% to 50.7....does it surprise me you round Love down and Horford up? LOL OF COURSE NOT....not only that- but also adjust for the fact that Love shoots significantly more 3's a game. Its close but if your objective Love has been a little bit better.......i feel like the tiebreaker just about every time in teh history of me following that kind of shit with those decisions is who has been on the better team....Its why Atlanta got FOUR All stars last year. With the Cavs 8.5 games better than the Hawks it was BULLSHIT.

Love is hurt (shoulder bruise). Even if its not serious, I doubt the Cavs would let him play just to be cautious

""they love to screw over the Cavs". i'm sure that was on the minds of all the NBA's brain trust...

^^^^^ This^^^^^^

1. Statistically , it's a coin toss.
2. We have no idea if the NBA reached out to the Cavs about his possible playing status before taking Horford.
3. Bosh could play. Love prob could play. The wise choice is that neither do.

Wiggys insane.
Historically, when has any deserving Cavs playing not been chosen?
Wasn't Kyrie selected a time or 2, when it was close as to whom should have been selected?
They should have selected Whiteside.
He's more entertaining to watch then either Love or Horford, and that's what this game is really about.
