What people aren't mentioning in the price talks, isn't Kuma up for extension after this season? No way this ownership group allows jack Z's replacement to sign Kuma and Price. Most likely Kuma wont be able to be resigned no matter of price. You know cause you gotta keep that payroll around 85mil..

I just hope this 2nd wildcard spot doesn't stop the FO from making any moves. Oakland is going to run away with the division at this point probably, LAA seems to have no problem keeping us right behind them in the rear view mirror.

I'm just afraid that Z is content with what we have since were sitting in that 2nd wildcard spot.

The Mariners need a bad NOW if they want to try to compete with the A's and LAA. I could see the FO do nothing then watch the wildcard spot slip away from us.

Johnny Gomesd linked to the Marinerrs. Meh. I'd be OK with that if he was strictly used against left handers. But his slash line against right handers is actually worse than Ackley's.

At any rate, this seems like the type of deal the Ms would make.

Funny because I brought Gomes up a couple weeks ago on here with the guy from Boston that came on. I think he would be a good fit as a platoon player (not an everyday player). Cost in trade would matter as well. Would not give up anyone in the top 40 for him.

Seems to be some slight smoke here. Lists Maurer, Leone and Farq as guys possibly involved. I can't see the price thing happening but the rumors won't go away

With the pitching match up being Cobb vs Ventura, I suppose that means they are looking at the hitters. Cant see either Ventura or Cobb going anywhere

Hmm didn't know that. He's under club control through 2017 so I figured they would hang onto him. I would be all for that though

I am pretty sure there were rumors with him for Franklin then Hellickson got hurt and they said they didn't have the depth to make a pitching trade at that time. I will try to look it up.

This was from spring training and it didn't mention Cobb, but I recall radio saying he was the one being targeted.

What they really need (a consistently effective bbatt to hit behind Seagar) is probably not available right now. Since they can't do that, then they need to move LoMo up to fifth in the batting order.

Watching the game last night I couldn't help but think the exact same thing. LoMo is killing the ball, and eventually they'll leave the infield if not the yard. Move him up and make a play for Marlon Byrd, then maybe think about a David Price deal. Without improvement in the lineup a deal for Price is worthless.
