And doesn't Todd Coffee have an out clause here soon? We need to move a reliever while they have value, whether that's Coffee or someone on the team now, replacing him with Coffee. It's free, easy value that needs to be cashed in on.

I thought he had an opt out option a few weeks ago and he must not have exercised it, not sure though.

His road/home splits are atrocious. Playing in the bandbox parks on the road have helped inflate his numbers. Places like Vegas, Tuscan, New Mexico where the ball carries really well. I guess the 3 run homer he hit last night would have been a mere pop fly at Safeco. I think they are really going to make him earn his call up, even though I definately would prefer him to Hat.

I would take Stanton over Price and Zobrist.

I think every one would but they are the same trade value. A major league ace under control plus a solid major league bat under control is along the lines of value in dealing for Stanton. I'd obviously prefer Stanton but if it is Price and Zobrist there shouldn't be an untouchable prospect.

I'ver mentioned before that the Rainiers stadium and the PCL are more compatible with the Kingdome than they are with Safeco. But that doesn't really matter if you don't know how to recognize and nurture player talent.

Speculation: TB wants a high-end position prospect for Price & the M's don't have 1 to give, Cubs would be a great fit as third team in deal. In other words (speculation), could work this way: Price could go to M's, M's send pitching to Cubs, Cubs send a position prospect to TB.
