Yeah but to be fair its only a 1 game playoff spot, sure anything can happen and they can advance but getting some help would be nice.

7 games over .500 and holding a playoff spot and still all you do here is compliment other teams while insulting both the M's and other posters here. Unbelievable. Nothing ever changes.

it's a great move on their part if it goes through.

the bullpen is their gaping weakness.

i always compliment teams when i see them addressing their greatest needs to make their teams better.

for the m's, anything above .500 is great to me. they're overperforming, if anything. if jack doesn't pull off a huge move before the trade deadline, no big deal for me. i'll lose my shit if he doesn't do quite a bit this offseason, though.

i highly doubt the halos are thinking 1 game playoff. they can catch the a's for sure. that will be their goal.

needless to say, street would solidify their chances in a 1-game playoff. their offense is the best in MLB, they have a solid rotation, and now they're going to have one of the game's premiere closers (maybe).

should be a lot of fun to see the halos and a's go after each other.

if the m's somehow manage to get in a 1 game playoff against either, i'll be very happy.

Theres really no reason to be concerned about the Angels or A's outside of when we play them. We aren't catching them. If anything lets root for them to take out the other teams for us.

Right now the Angels are 57-37 through 94 games and the M's are 51-44 through 95 games.
Lets say for some reason the Angels struggle and only go .500 the rest of the way (34-34, which wont happen). The M's would need to go 40-27 just to catch them. I just don't see either of those being reasonable. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but that's reality.

there's more than this year

i'll always pay attention to other teams in our division

i never said anything about catching the a's or the halos, so i'm assuming you're talking to somebody else with all of that

Wasn't really directed at anyone. Just making a general statement. I actually think the Angels will win the division. They have gotten hot without major contribution from weaver or Wilson.

I don't see how the M's going 13 games over .500 the rest of the way is unreasonable considering they've gone 40-30 from May 1st on, especially if they're able to upgrade their starting pitching and/or add a bat or two at positions where current performances have held them back from being better.

They could go 13 over, but that would still require the Angels to only play .500 ball which I have a tough time seeing. I guess what this team looks like on July 31st will be the big question. If they can get a Price and bat or two then they could jump right up there. Lots of rumors are floating so we will see what pans out. Nice to be buyers for a change for sure.

if the m's offense can get back to where it was in early june, getting to teen digits over .500 is possible for sure

Offense getting shut out again....yeah lets trade for price, that will help the hitting problem.

Walker is having another shaky outing in Tacoma. His value is dropping by the week. Also not really proving he belongs in the rotation

Two games in a row for Tacoma where he pitched 5 innings with only 1 K. That always scares me along with throwing 90 pitches to get there. Tells me he isn't fooling a lot of hitters.

I think they are more concerned with stretching him out and building up his strength again while rehabbing. He'll probably start to open it up again soon.

I understand what you are saying, but 90 pitches for 5 innings and striking anyone out means he can't get to the 7th inning and we already have a guy that does that in Elias. It also means too many baserunners and/or too many players fouling pitches off.

Yeah but I mean he might just be throwing to get his arm built up but not really pitching for control yet. I could be wrong though.

He's not rehabbing. He has been healthy for over a month as he was activated from the DL June 10th. This is a pure control issue.
