I think you're a 100% right.

We shouldn't overpay, nor overextend the years to get anyone. Certainly not Shields, although a two year contract at a reasonable rate would fit nicely for a innings eating # 3 starter.

Ya know, I almost got the feeling that KC conceded this game early on. They just didn't seem to have much spark.

Bumgarner is as legit of a number one starter you can ask for.

If game 2 starts like game 1 it's going to be to bed early. We deserve more from KC than they showed. Bumgarner won and should have but that does not excuse the best team in the American League from their poor showing.
