This isn't 1845. It is 2014, and NL baseball is boring to watch because of the bull pen "specialists" and multiple pen changes in an inning. Yes that's excruciatingly awful. The way Peavy approached hitting last night was also awful. It's one of the things the league would like to speed up going forward, because of how long games last because of it.
I fully understand this isn't 1845 and it's 2014. Great pickup.
The speeding up of the game is a concern. However, it is not anywhere close to being a NL problem alone. All the games are taking damn near 3 hours. Actually think it's 2 hours and 54 minutes to be exact.
Personally I like the more strategic approach to NL ball over AL ball. And I haven't always thought this. Not since 1845 for sure.
I was totally in favor of the DH when the AL embarrassed it. But after all these years I've come back to really enjoying the game without it. Not asking anyone else too. I also know it's not going away and fully expect it to become the rule of both leagues sooner than later.
