If you honestly think that, you lose any credibility you had. Jd knows our situation and needs better than anybody on these message boards.

Here's what I think. He knows we still have holes and knows our situation. Therefore he's making a run to fill our needs as best as possible. But at the same time I think he along with the organization is content on starting the season now if that one team comes in and swoops away all of our targeted bats and severely overpays for talented but nothing special players. JD is playing it cool. I guess I wouldn't be surprised to see Choo and Cruz sign here but it also wouldn't surprise me if they all get away and we start the season with what we already have.

Sums it up nicely. Jd will make a serious attempt at improving our team, but he won't do it at the expense of mortgaging our future like the angels have. Jd will pull another move out that will drastically improve our team. Just watch.

"what we already have", that's basically what Justin just said, and was chewed for it

:noidea:

Okay, I'll say it. If he fields this team as currently constructed, with no "major moves"
we...will...suck.
I'm sure everyone will be thrilled to see what Leonys is doing in Winter Ball, (don't look)Beltre isn't better, but he has less experience obviously. Martin is a concern.

Wave hello to the Mariners, hopefully we'll be waving down.
It is possible JD doesn't do much else...could be a two year plan and he doesn't want to make any moves right now
I don't know, but questioning what's going on certainly seems to be fair

Do you really think the team was all that better last year? Despite all that we still won 91 games. By no means am I a blind homer and know this team has issues but to say that we will suck is a strong knee jerk reaction.

No, the team was a dissppointment last year too.
good point, we can probably come in second again

The overall point is, I don't understand why posters aren't entilted to be concerned
Maybe JD has a crap offseason, does that mean someone wants him gone? No, good GM's have bad years and bad teams.
JD's not going anywhere and there isn't any reason to go apeshit if someone questions what's going on...or questions what he's doing.

He's here, he's staying. Relax folks. Like he needs the constant over-the-top defense

Suck may be strong, but the team as currently constructed I do not believe will be as good as last years team.

I know I am chiming in late here but I think if we field the team we currently have we are just about the same as we were last year. However, that wasn't and will continue to not to be good enough.

Well no real leadoff hitter, a question mark in LF, an unproven guy at 2nd base, last years backup catcher starting (who's BA has only been above his weight 3 times in 9 years), a new closer and a starting rotation of Yu, Holland and Perez and then maybe Tep, Ogando, and possibly Harry not knowing with injury problems? I don't think Prince makes the difference in what we lose from last year not saying I would have preferred Murphy or AJ stay, but this team isn't going to be as good as last years. As currently constructed as mentioned before

This team will suck.... Need 2 more bats. Our offense was anemic last year.

Yeah, I suppose you are right. I do feel like the addition of Prince more than makes up for the subtraction of Kins but we really haven't done much about the potential loss of Cruz's bat.

That being said, I am pretty confident there is still a move or two for JD ahead. I am not going to say it will be Cruz or Choo ( do hope that way though), but I do think we will get better.

I also think Profar will be much better this season two b/c I think knowing where he will be playing everyday will give him some peace of mind that he didn't have his rookie season.

We's in trouble now!

Don't worry I've got this whole charm thing outside the internet world working for me.

sometimes a person just nees to wakeup next to a horsehead, to send a polite signal that the fans want more information

even if it's a little plastic horsehead, he'll get the message.

I still trust JD to make a move..... If not, I guess he's fine with the A's being division champs for the 3rd year in a row :(

Agree on Profar and I agree there will still be another move and possibly more, (hopefully not Berkman again, JK) but currently this team is not as good as last years. The loss of Kins hurts only because there is no real leadoff option, but adding Prince will help some with HR potential but then subtract Cruz and ?

Kidding of course, I'll just cry.
