So you'd be against good guys like David Murphy and Craig Gentry ever having any success ever again, but you would want Ron Washington to do well?

Wow. Talk about absolutely backward thinking.

I think this was the Rangers 100,000th post.

I wasn't referring to you specifically. The "you" in my post was more of a generalized "you", meaning you as in "that's something you just don't see every day" or "that's something you just don't do". Sorry for the confusion.

Oh ok. I thought you were:ss: (stirring shit up). lol

That shit stirring guy is kind of scary… seems just a little to happy and conniving if you ask me.

I'm not sure who it was..... But I remember when the rangers acquired Garza I said he wouldn't get more than 4/$60 and I was pretty much called an idiot (although the jury is still out my possible idiocy....:)) I've eaten my fair share of crow on these boards...... Just saying. I'm far to lazy to dig up old threads.

I only found one post through before the trade went through where you mentioned Garza's contract and no one even replied to your assessment of his value

Maybe a different board?

I don't remember if I disagreed with you specifically but I was sure wrong. I was pretty convinced he'd get a deal of about 5/80 or 5/90 because he's a very good pitcher. Anibal Sanchez got what 5/85 last season? Perhaps his results in Texas hurt how much he got but I was a little surprised he get a pretty friendly deal at 4/52. I think he's good and has some emotion and swagger. Deal should be good for Milwaukee.

ESPN Refugee: I wouldn't assume anything. This is his last chance to get his big contract. I don't think he'll get overly money whipped but I think the range of 5 years and about 80-90 million will suffice and be worth it IMO.

elziegreat42: lol. that wont happen. try 4 for 40-50 mill

ESPN Refugee: Clueless.

Thanks for finding it. Hey I was wrong and I'll eat my crow. All is good.

Schoenfield sees it as quite a risk. MLB Brewers take huge gamble on Matt Garza - ESPN

So is there anyone out there worth acquiring for the rotation. Maybe Arroyo, but that's the only one I can come up with.

Arroyo would be nice. Given his age he prob wouldn't command or get more than 2 years. Annual salary would be high but he'd be have most if not all of us feeling safer.

But I think the organization will look internally or look at guys like Jerome Williams that will be cheap and try to hold the fort if and/or until Holland comes back this season.

And on another note I still can't believe Nelly isn't signed. I wonder if JD and clan are loving this and will swoop in at the last minute and sign him to a friendly deal. Unlikely yes but you never know I guess.

Without adding anyone, here is how I see our rotation stacking up.

Darvish
Harrison
Ogando
Perez
Lewis, Tepesch, Kirkman

If Lewis is healthy and effective I'd say this is okay and we can add guys like Williams for depth. However, that's a big if, and if he's not healthy we need to consider someone like Arroyo.

I wouldnt mind taking a flier on Chen or Maholm...

Chen could be another low cost back of the rotation innings eater. Like Arroyo, he wouldn't cost a draft pick either.

I could see someone like Seattle throwing money at him and nabbing him. I'd be shocked if he ended up here.

Norm just did a great segment on Nelly and his value. I can see why he hasn't signed anywhere yet. But like you said it only takes that 1 team to get stupid and offer something real high.
