Was it the 4 yr/52 mil? As bad as they need pitching I'm surprised they didn't bite.

Last I heard stated the Angels had $15 mill they were willing to spend and they would use it to go after Garza. So my guess it was the 4 years that did them in.

Figured MG would fetch that basically and he didn't cost a draft pick

I wonder why we didn't give him a QO at $14 mill. If he takes it then fine and if not we get draft compensation.

Yeah that would have made sense unless there is something I am missing like the type of FA didn't involve a QO or something? Kinda like the AJP deal where I don't believe we receive draft pick compensation because there was an option that was declined by either of the parties or something

Shouldn't be long before Cruz comes off the board now. Where do you see him going and at what price? I say he goes to the O's and takes a 1 or 2 year contract from around $14-15M/ season. Of course the M's might take him for that as well but I really don't think he wants to play for the M's for some reason. My reasoning for the O's is pretty weak though. I just think they have a need and seems to like our former players.

Nelly will be missed, I wouldn't mind seeing him go to a contender either, as long as it isn't anyone in the AL West.

We didn't because you can't because we acquired him through a trade the year he was set to become a free agent

Okay, I was wondering if there was something that kept us from doing that because we had to figure he would have declined it like Cruz did. Thanks Justin.

Hell no, I don't want Nelly to go to a contender. He was a major factor in us not winning the WS with that misplay in RF. I would hate it if he went somewhere else, and won the WS before we do.

Yea you are right. That relief pitching was light's out in Game 6. It's all on Cruz.

If Feliz would have thrown something high/in & fast... I do not believe we would be having this argument.

Instead... Low & Away...and fast. -_-

Where in my statement did I say it was all on Cruz? I said he was a major factor, which he was. Feliz threw a mistake, but in the end it was a tough play that should have been caught.

I remember sitting there saying throw it inside as well since Freese was a fast ball hitter who takes it to right. Some of that is on Napoli too. He kept calling for that same pitch over and over.

Garza to Brewers may not be a done deal. Problem with the physical perhaps.

Going back to the NL is probably the right move for Garza. Glad he's not going to the Angels, I'm sick of watching ex-Rangers on that club...

Balfour to retirement...That's what I cannot wait for. I hope something goes seriously wrong and he is not able to play anywhere. Awful person.

At least he's out of our division.
