Serious question because I'd like another source, but what site are you using for info?

I'm using multiple sources... Rankings, profiles, mocks, etc.

WalterFootball.com: 2014 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings

NFL Draft - 2014 NFL Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

NFL Draft results, report cards, rumors and more | Bleacher Report

If I haven't watched them play before, then I follow these guidelines more or less:

Things I look for:
1. big board for prospect assurance
2. where analysts have them mocked (also look at writeups if available)
3. then I look at their profiles (pro's, con's, size, etc)

Walterfootball has PIT picking 2.46 and Drafttek does as well. Maybe we don't maintain the 15th position for every round.

2014 NFL Draft - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The selection order for the first round is as follows.[3] The Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts traded their first round selections, and will make their first selection in the second round (34th and 59th overall, respectively). The selection order for subsequent rounds will follow the order of the first round, except that teams with the same record and same playoff result will rotate among their respective groups (these groups are indicated by the bold gray lines in the table below). Also, 32 additional supplemental picks will be allocated between the ends of round 3 through 7, for a total of 256 picks. See the rules for determining draft order for more details.

Steelers are in a group of 8-8 teams with Chicago, Baltimore, Dallas, Miami, and the Jets. So I guess they will rotate through those depending on round. Is this something new?

Well Ed Reynolds was one of my guys, assuming the usual characters are gone by 46, I would favor him over a CB in round two assuming relatively equal talent.

I need somebody to take over for me with the drafting after tomorrow. I will be heading out of town Thursday night and won't be back until Sunday night. My firm had a project fall through and need me there asap! Bad timing, I know! But I need someone to cover Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I should be back Monday, barring any unforseen setbacks.

Let me know if any of you are interested! I will let the people running the show know who is taking over for me.

I can help out...we have 2nd round pool together already and we don't have a 3rd round pick...at the pace we're on you might not miss much...lol.

I assume the time to select might decrease for the other rounds.

Yea that's what I'm worried about, is the process is likely going to speed up. I will probably miss out on the rest of it! I'll start throwing together some round wishlists and let you guys disect it. And since we all seem to be on the same page, I'm sure we will all have the same prospects in mind.

Thanks ATL! I'll let the guys running it know that you or element1286 will step in while I'm away.

Going on the premise that they figure out a way to let Troy finish out his last year...I can see Thomas, Reynolds and Troy on the field in dime. That said...our next pick is 114...Idk of many CBs in that area, as a 4th rd option Bailey from USC with a year under Troy could take over in 2015.

I like Reynolds, but we need to sharpen the pencil on a CB if we go that route.

I think our new asst. coach might have a diamond in the rough for us...not being invited to the combine...could fly under the radar...I'm sure Tomlin will be at his pro day.

I've watched the Cockrell kid out of Duke... He's projected to be around the 4th round... He's got good height (6'0"), standard frame (185lbs), "average to below average" speed (4.5's), good field awareness (this season: 12 PD's, 42 tackles, 1 sack), decent ball skills... I'd say he is worth a look in the 4th round.

Overall he is good in coverage, decent tackler, but lacks speed. I will say this though, his field speed didn't look like 4.5's territory. I bet he runs in the low 4.4's on his pro day.

We could probably find a faster prospect, but not sure many in the 4th round will have his awareness.

KC went Allen Robinson @ 23, I thought they might go Seferian-Jenkins... GB went TE, taking Amaro as I was thinking.

That's fair, Bailey interested me too when I read up on him.

I'm seeing a few more options @ S that we can look at also beyond round 4...Paul Porras, Baylor is one.

From what I can tell, there are still quite a few CB's on the board. Not sure how many are going to start flying off the board once the 2nd round starts.

Roberson (projected 1-2)
Verrett (1-2)
Fuller (2)
Purifoy (2)
Hampton (2-3)
Breeland (2-3)

These guys are all still available unless I missed a pick on the board
