Calgary Stampeders defensive back Quincy Butler left the team on Thursday and is not expected to return this season.

Butler was informed by immigration officials on Wednesday that he is not currently eligible to work in Canada.

The San Antonio native was in his fourth season with the Stampeders, recording 55 tackles in 19 games. This season, the TCU product had 13 tackles in three games.

Charged and pled guilty to assaulting a cabbie outside a Calgary casino in April of this year.
