"Michael Young has accepted a trade to the Philadelphia Phillies, who will ship right-handed reliever Josh Lindblom and minor league righty Lisalverto Bonilla to the Rangers to complete the deal, according to a source.

Young had to waive his no-trade clause to get the deal done. A source said Thursday that the Rangers were going to have to pay at least half of Young's $16 million 2013 salary to complete the deal. Young will receive $1.2 million in "benefits" in exchange for waiving his no-trade clause, a source confirmed to ESPN."

So Young is gone, and we got a solid established bullpen arm, and a young pitcher and paid half his contract for next year, I'll take it

Scratch that. He was good withthe dodgers bad with the phillies

He had a rough 2nd half, but he's certainly a talented arm, and had a good 1st half, and he's proven he can pitch, thats a plus, should be one less hole to fill in the bullpen

Better return than I expected for Young

One guy I'd like to take a flier on is Jesus Flores, the Nationals have Suzuki and Ramos and Flores might just need a change of scenery

He'd be cheap reclamation project, considering the lack of catching talent available out there, taking a chance on a guy like this might be the only reasonable way to go

Anybody remember that scene in money ball where billy beane traded away Carlos Pena and Jeremy Giambi because the manager refused to play the optimal lineup? Yeah, that just happened. Deal with it wash.

Shields would be a good choice. I'm not so sure Sanchez wouldn't be a great #2 at a more reasonable contract.

Looks like a 6 year deal worth 145m. Honestly, if the dodgers do sign him to that contract ill honestly be glad they didn't commit 24m/yr for the next six years to a guy who may or may not be an ace.

Yeah but honestly the tax factor should of helped us a bit. Guess not. I would love a Price deal right now lol. Im dreaming. But this kind of bums me a bit cause this team needs to win with pitching, not all that offense. What if Darvish doesnt turn out to be a great pitcher that everyone expects him to be?

Anibal is not a bad option either pretty close to Greinkes numbers in terms of ERA and FIP
