I dunno, paying that much for a 32 year old relief pitcher, that I believe is costing them picks as well? This seems like the type of "win now" move a team strapped for cash that will lose most of their players to free agency would make, I don't think the Nats fall into that category.
Time will tell if it pans out for them but after the K-Rod debacle for the Mets I don't trust closers enough to shell out that much money.
Exactly. They also lose money that they'll be allotted to sign draft picks as well. There's only been a couple of closers that have been essentially dominant their entire career. Not a gamble I want my team to make.
