Kubat pitched for the first time all year. Had arm soreness that kept him out. He was on a 60 pitch pitch count. Then came in Neiderklein and Vogt finished it off.
Nebraska wins game 2 with a 4-2 victory. Going into the game, Arkansas had a team era of 1.64. Nebraska was able to put up 7 total runs. Hopefully they can build off this big mid week sweep of a top 15 team.
Kyle Kubat is a big time weekend pitcher and we have missed him big time. He will need to build up the strength in his arm and continue to be on a pitch count but if he can get healthy and get into that weekend rotation with Deleon then we can win some weekend series with consistency.
Kubat is already getting a weekend start this weekend on Sunday. Hope his a is ready and the bullpen is ready because I am sure the pitch count will still be there.
Nebraska got their first road series sweep since the middle of March in 2008. They are now 11-4 in Big 10 play and behind only Minnesota in the standings.
