Just looked it up on line. Rangers are Number 1 by Baseball America right now.
Oh man, let's not forget to laugh at the Angels. Against Oak, late in the game and LAA was up by a run. Figured it was over. Then Jepsen gives up 4 ER for the LAA loss.
Man, I think LAA rights the ship soon but I'm enjoying all their bluster and the media love they were getting blowing up in their faces right now.
So Napoli is aiming for a contract between V-Marts (4yrs/52 million) and Yadier's.. (5yrs/75 million).
So do you offer Napoli 5/65? 4/60? Or let him walk?

better question: if you don't keep Napoli, do you go with Torrealba, who 99% of the posters want gone, or with some unknown down in the minors?
I have no problem with Torrealba as a backup, but I'd want to keep Napoli around until we can groom Alfaro or someone else to be the next catcher
how long will Alfaro take? according to this scouting report: Alfaro is a 6'2", 185 lb. catcher, a righthanded hitter who won't turn 19 until June, 2012. Signed in January, 2010, out of Colombia as a 16 year old, and commanding a $1.3 million signing bonus, Alfaro is a player who gives you a lot to dream about, but who is so raw and so far away that it is hard to get a good handle on where exactly he should go in the community rankings.
He could be at least 3 years or more away and the Rangers minor league system isn't exactly loaded with catcher prospects that look close to being ready. and looking at the free agent catchers that are coming available in 2013 & 2014, Napoli is the only one worth the money and he isn't going to sign a 1 or 2 year contract with us. he is looking for a minimum of 5 years and he'll get it from someone

Napoli is a good player, but if anybody is dumb enough to give him a minimum 5 year deal then he should take it and the Rangers will probably be glad to look elsewhere.
That's not a better question.
Then come with a better one. Your plan seems to be let them walk without suggesting alternatives. Let Young walk, let Hamilton walk, let Napoli walk without any viable solution to their loss.
Your plan always seems to be throw big money at everyone with an expiring contract. There's no need for us to suggest alternatives because they're always there(prospects, free agents, trades).
