Hey guys. I don't want to make a thread about this but I hope and pray josh can beat his demons

Josh Hamilton breaks out of slump, but stays quiet about mystery issues and “disobedience” | HardballTalk

Huskers ... we all agree with you. He just needs a couple of nights of hung sliders and curves in the middle of the plate. No need to start a media frenzy about his demons.

By the way ... thanks to you for your efforts that got most of us to come over from the old board a year ago to become along with the SFG forum SportsHoopla's most popular MLB forums. Smaller audience here than we had over there but most of the regulars are here and you and a few others can be credited for getting us to make the move. Thanks.

I don't think Philly wants to eat anything. After these last two wins I wonder if anybody has made a call to Ray Davis and Bob Simpson. I know Ryan would love to have him.

Without a true ace and Colby the playoff ace I don't see how the Rangers can advance very far in the playoffs. You know you're in trouble if starting Scott Feldman in a game one has passed through your mind.

Philly has officially announced that they will not throw any money into any deal for Lee

Yep... and they want good prospects on top of that as well.

Good luck!

Like I've said previously, Lee can take his deal in Philly and sink with that team, they're going nowhere fast even with three "aces," 2 of which are getting up in age and wear and tear

The Phillies gave Hamels a Rich Lucrative Contrach. But He could have gotten that in Free Agency after this Season from a Number of Clubs. Being that All the Big Stars want to Play for a Winner I am still surprised that Hamels didn't test the Free Agent Market. Whoever plays the Folly Lee is going to have to give up way too much and the Phillies aren't going to pay most that contract. Lee is stuck.

Basically they would have to pay Lee's last season, to make it worth anyone's time

I understand "officially" saying they wouldn't send money ... but of course they would say that. Even if they said it doesn't mean they mean it. That's business.

All depends on what is offered in the way of prospects coming the other way.

If you get Jamey's daily email you have seen his excellent explanation this morning of the whole issue with waivers and how it all works. May be up on his website. A good read showing all the TEX options regarding PHL and Lee.

And as noted here ... most likely he's staying in PHL unless LAD goes for it.

Dodgers just got Joe Blanton from Philly

Now they have Kershaw and a bunch of veteran 4s & 5s who are products of their home park (Blanton, Capuano, Harang, & Billingsley), they could do some damage come playoff time, especially with homefield

Billingsley could be a 3 but has never been consistent enough to earn it

And Cliff Lee did NOT clear waivers.... Watch the Angels claimed him to screw the Rangers... (eventhough I don't think Texas had a lot of interest)

Philly looks like clowns right now. They sign Lee for that huge deal and now have resorted to begging teams to take it off their hands. Hands down one of the worst pro contracts ever.

Phils would pull him back because the Angels don't have anything to offer prospect wise

Bary Zito still wins that battle, not sure who would be worse, but he's got to be up there

Wouldn't surprise me for another AL team to claim him in order to block TEX getting to even consider claiming him. Then try and back out or hoping they are one of the teams Cliff has a no trade clause to.

Wasn't able to watch the game last night ... had to follow on GameDay. Was anything said about Oswalt pitching in relief now as the long guy?

Probably woke up this morning and felt pretty good ... 2.0IP and a win. Hmmm... this relief gig might be pretty good.

Right now am not sure what the rotation is other than what is in the schedule on ESPN. You could make a case that there are two SP spots that get filled between Holland, Feldman and Oswalt.

Right now who would those 2 be?
