He will get at least 10 more wins next season with that schedule and the Offensive players we return.......

It's confusing really..........how in the hell do we win 9-10 games and then lose a couple here and there in complete blowouts?

I'm already saying I'm willing to give him the next 5 years. I'm excited about the talent coming in, and I'm optimistic that Bo will get it figured out eventually. I just don't think he will get it figured out next year already.

This is what I can't understand......granted, I don't consider today's bowl game a complete blowout and I'm honestly pretty proud of how the Huskers played for the most part......

But.......we have given up 115 points in our last two games......:L

B4 you guys start acting like bitches after reading this, use an open mind on what I am about to type. In another post - from Shady, he touched on the Osborne retirement thing but he missed out on a good point. As much as many posters here want to put a time limit on Pelini, what we think don't really matter. What if -- and I am just throwing this out there-- the big boosters were getting in T.O.'s ears about the big flop losses this year and last. The biggest boosters drive the athletic dept. for the most part.

Now I agree that Tom is up there in age, but his own comment about his age after the Tim Miles hire struck me as a bit odd. Tom also said he feels that he has left the program on solid footing ~ so in reality, if it goes back to 5 win seasons in the near future, Tom did his job and is washing his hands of it all. Osborne would have known if Pelini was actively interviewing for other jobs and Tom doesn't want to be a part of the next football hire.

One other thing that seemed old to me was Pelini's post-game comment on the fact that he is a competitor - could have been meant for the new AD's ears. Just a few things to think about...

I thought the interior of the line played REALLY well yesterday. It was the outside that struggled but the speed and talent on the ends for Georgia is crazy good. Taylor was constantly forced to step up in the pocket and he could never settle himself.

As for the people leaving. Moore was a bitch that left school because of a bitch that he left at home. Klachko was an "animal"? The type of "animal" that transfers and then quits football all together? Peat had injuries and that happens. Read the Sam McKewon article from Monday. These walk ons and other "scrubs" that Cotton have on the line have far exceeded their "talent level". Seems that these high star guys are either big softies or just a bunch of babies. Is that Cottons fault? Not saying don't recruit high level linemen but just talking about the guys that are here.

If Bo gets it figured out, it will be by accident. Despite this, I don't want a 10 win coach to be fired.

Question about Pelini "Shopping" around...Why would he? Nebraska isn't a stepping stone program and should be a place where a top coach goes to win things. Not build his resume and jump after a good overall record. Unless Pelini just doesn't like the spotlight he recieves in Nebraska? But, what does he expect? If he thinks he can go to a bigger, better program the media will be even more on him and the spotlight even bigger. If he doesn;t like the stressors of the job, he should be a coordinator.

Also, your defense was stout when Pelini initially took over. Was that because Pelini knew coming into Nebraska that the defense was a wreck under Callahan and he needed to get his hands on it? They had success that way, now I may be wrong, but it seems Pelini in his 5th year has taken slowly taken the CEO head coach approach where he wants his hands on a little bit of everything, and has given the defense to your DC. who is clearly in over his head. So I think it would be wise for Pelini to either, regain the control of the defense, or hire a capable DC to run things.

Nonetheless, I can't imagine Pelini looking elsewhere. One I don't think anyone else would really want him if he can't get things done at Nebraska and in the B1G. I mean Nebraska can give you everything you want, it's in a top conference (who just had a down year this year) I mean, unless he is looking towards the SEC, but things only heat on down there on him, it doesn't get any easier.

Make no mistake about it, Bo IS the DC at Nebraska. Papuchis is just a puppet and has a fancy title of DC. Bo would NEVER take his hands off the defense.

Kind of like your OC, Helfrich. He may be a great coach but we all know Kelly is the guy with that offense and that will never change.

Thought he had given up the reigns of Defense. Or at least coaching it in practice, but maybe calling the defensive plays during games? Can't imagine a defensive guru like Pelini who has had some stout D's over the year allows his team to give up over 100 pts in 2 games.

Or 214 points in 4 losses.

Those "stout" defenses that Bo built his rep on we're littered with NFL talent. He does not have that.

Don't have the time right now, but I want to go back to previous rosters and make a list year by year of home grown impact players on the offensive and defensive lines.

I've looked at it before, but didn't make a post with it.

I see the importance of going after highly sought after recruits for the skill positions offensive and defensively, but in the trenches it's more about strength/conditioning and smarts. You also need a couple guys in there pushing the others.

If I remember, Epley's program for the offensive lineman was focused on burst. ie..He wanted 3-4 seconds of quick burst per play. Anything beyond that was a waste of energy.

Of course that was for a running team.

That being said, I can't be critical of Nebraska's run blocking yesterday.

It's the pass blocking that leaves little to be desired and a lot of that is technique.

Watch Klachkos High school tape the guy bull dozed everyone and it was 10 yards down the feild. I am judging this all on high school tape alone since they did tuck tail and run. I am just saying those are two players who would have helped if they dicided to have any balls at all.

So you want me to watch a HIGHLIGHT video of some kid in high school playing against smaller high school kids and call him an animal? HIGHLIGHT videos are designed to show the best of a player.

You can be a physical beast amongst pimple faced kids that just started driving but that doesn't mean you are a physical beast amongst college young men!!!!

The only thing Klachko developed was concussions (according to Tim Beckman)

They put him on permanent medical at some point in fall.

LOL that was a drunk rant - good catch. The AD position at Nebraska will get more political if Championships and BCS bowls continue out of reach. The defense was decent considering all the turnovers the offense coughed up this year. I don't see dumb turnovers changing until Martinez is gone. Alumni and boosters will get unsettled if we have one blowout loss per year and worse so if we have two or more. My point is that T.O. is old and the politics of the job are too much for him to handle at his age, so he retired. Pelini is way too stubborn to fire his young coach/friends let alone fire seasoned coaches as Solich did. So how many years Pelini has left? It depends on him getting top recruits and getting them on the field and his young coordinators growing up fast. Beck is doing okay, I did laugh when the Georgia defense had to waste two timeouts because of confusion and substitutions. Nebraska isn't that far back from the elite teams, but they have work to do. :frusty:

You wanna know how I know Bo can't evaluate talent when it comes to recruiting? I'm still sitting on my couch watching Nebraska play on Saturday instead of being on the field high stepping into thee endzone. That's how I know.
