Well if we can keep some of these O linemen like T.Moore and Klechko. Klechko was a fucking animal. Also Peat and Baker could have stayed healthy. We are a better team then what showed up today and IMO the team that showed up today was pretty damn good.

Those are frustrations of course, but those are all part of football, and many of those can be attributed to the talent of your opponent and you just have to tip your hat and move on.....

The shit that pisses me off is excessive number of false starts and personal foul penalties......not being able to get the defense set prior to the snap.....stuff like that is what I cringe about......those are the mental/coaching things that should be fixable through coaching......

And yes, I'm all for a new strength and conditioning coach and program......We are seeing good to great results with the skill position players, but both lines need serious work......

We really haven't had a big problem with false starts and dumb personal foul penalties this season though.........

Our problem has been Taylor having to run for his life and ultimately throwing a bad pass back across his body or fumbling the ball.......

And also our problem is getting smoked up front on Defense and then trying to rely on our DB's to make solo tackles in 1-on-1 situations.

To me, that stuff is not a part of football. When you watch good teams, they don't break down up front en sech.

I just think recruiting is a major part of it and you're never going to change my mind about it.

I agree with this as well (even though I don't follow it much at all, and never will...), and I think Pelini is the worst head coach at this we've had since before Devaney.......I just don't think his personality suits him well to excel in this area.......

Recruiting is important, but I don't see how some of these guys came in here as 4-star prospects and didn't gain a bit of physicality, and ultimately ended up 2-stars.....

You're right, that the most glaring problem for the Huskers to really get back into a top 10 type team again......in the 90's we dominated both sides of the line like no tomorrow......was the talent so much better?....was it the strength and conditioning program?.....was it coaching?

A little bit of both that I have bolded here, in my opinion.

I don't know if it's leadership in the weight room or the strength and conditioning program itself.

The best I saw Steinkuhler play in his 4 year career was the 2nd half against Wisconsin this season. That's why I refer to he and Meredith as "fixtures". They both seem like they've been hanging around forever collecting dust. It's as if they never improved.

I think I know why they play. It's because they've been around so long they know Bo's X's and O's better than the younger guys so they can pass the test in practice. But are they pushing the younger guys in the weight room? Are they challenging the younger guys the likes Winstrom and Peter did?

I have my doubts and my hopes are when they leave someone will step up and take charge.

Lead, follow, or get the fuck outta the way.

But if you think about it. Pelini doesn't run a defense that encourages players to lead and take charge. He doesn't award blackshirts to individuals like they used to be. He awards them only as a unit. In that situation everybody is an equal.

So do you think the effort was greater because they already loved the Huskers before going to college there?

I don't think that's the issue.....

Yeah, to me if your defense is too complex that it doesn't work unless you have extremely talented guys to execute it, you should modify your system to one that the guys playing it have the talent to execute rather than having a bad result from an otherwise good sytem because the guys you have don't have the talent to run the schemes you want to run......

No. Just saying I tend to believe it was better coaching and strength and conditioning.

Strength and conditioning either being the responsibility of the individual or the overall program itself.

I don't know if it's the program or the individuals. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Give me all the talent in the world. If they can't grasp a scheme mentally, you get a blow out.

Watching that LSU/Clemson game I was absolutely amazed how those teams played compared to us......particularly on the Defensive Line.

That was one of the better bowl games I've seent in a while.

BINGO BINGO BINGO!!! This is our main problem on defense, but stubborn ass Pelini will continue to do this until the end of time!

I would like to add that if I had my way, dumbass Taylor WOULD NEVER be allowed to be interviewed!

I think LSU was way more talented than Clemson was, but Clemson just had something Nebraska doesn't have... A coach who has learned how to develop a GREAT gameplan to give his team the best chance to win!

Im on board for one more year

He will get at least 10 more wins next season with that schedule and the Offensive players we return.......

It's confusing really..........how in the hell do we win 9-10 games and then lose a couple here and there in complete blowouts?

I'm already saying I'm willing to give him the next 5 years. I'm excited about the talent coming in, and I'm optimistic that Bo will get it figured out eventually. I just don't think he will get it figured out next year already.
