Word. I heard that the PP was looking pretty lethal in the preseason. I hope they start to convert when it counts. Of course, the lack of an offensively gifted d-man other than Boyle will haunt us until Dougie addresses it. Getting Stuey back and Jason Demers as far away from the ice as humanely possible should improve things across the board. I'd like to see Matt Irwin get it going again. When he was first called up last season, there wasn't a shot he didn't like and a BOOMING shot it was. Now he seems to be more timid. Unfortunately, the guy just isn't gifted enough defensively or sure-handed enough with the puck to leave him in the lineup each night if he's not scoring or at least creating some offense. I'd like to see him get aggressive again, get the puck off of his stick quickly and on net. Let's go Sharkies!!!

I'd much prefer to see Demers out there aiding the transition game even with his defensive gaffs over watching Hannan brutally and unsuccessfully chip the puck up the boards to the other team 15 minutes a night.

Go Sharks, but I just saw the pregame Brent Burns interview and dang if he doesn't look more and more like a homeless guy.

Go Hertl, this is a direct result of DWill not blowing up the team. His patience is paying off.

Dang it. Demers has set up 6 or 7 glorious scoring chances these first two games and has nothing to so for it yet.

I agree that Demers isn't anywhere near strong in his own zone when play slows down, but the team needs puck moving ability more so than defensive play. The other four skaters on the ice can help each other out with defense. But Demers ability to skate the puck up the ice is worth the occasional head in the clouds moment.
It is up to the staff to keep him confident when, not if, but when he screws up defensively. He's finally healthy to start the year and it's time he lived up to his potential.

Granted Phoenix isnt that good of a team, but the sharks are without two top 6 forwards and top pair defenseman and they are this good, this might finally be the team weve been waiting for boys
