I thought Justice Winslow looked pretty good in that game. Hes gonna have his bumps as a rookie -especially one with a jump shot that it is so-so--- like I said- I see him as a MKG type that is not quite the defender but also doesnt quite have the broken jumper MKG has. That was a steal for Miami to get him so late in the draft. Its so hard to get a good SF. He can be develop into a guy who is a top half of the league SF that is a very nice get. He reminds me of Deng a little bit- but hes a better athlete then Deng.

The Cavs are just so freaking deep this year. Without Irving and Shumpert they still have a very good and deep bench. As long as they limit Varejao to 20 a night he can really give you good minutes. I love a lineup with Varejoa, Delly and Jefferson- that defense and effort, and shooting, and intelligence and effort of those 3 guys makes a very nice bench unit.

it really came down to Love and LeBron playing great tonight though. Heat just dont have an answer or anyone to cover LeBron...winslow is at least a couple years away from being able to do it on a solid level- I think he will be able to be a good LeBron stopper eventually- but not anytime soon.

Heat had nothing to lose tnight, regardless.
We know we're a work in progress and by watching the game it was more then obvious.
Other then James, nothing about the Cavs has me shaking in my boots.
It was there home opener against an ex James team.
Who didn't know we would see an A effort from them?

Yes, we were outhustled and outplayed, but we also missed tons of wide open looks.

Cavs once again will go as far as James can get them.
He claims he wants to limit minutes, etc.

I claim hes too competitive to sit minutes if he thinks it's gonna cost them some close games.

I need some good games to lift my spirits after ESPN shut down Grantland today. Fucking bullshit. They had the best NBA coverage on the net. Zach Lowe is obviously da gawd but the others were entertaining as well. If anyone knows where those guys are writing next, let me know ASAP

Grantland did have great basketball stuff. That is a bummer. I imagine most will resurface elsewhere with Simmons though - either that or just get absorbed back into ESPN

Richard Jefferson's athleticism has surprised me. I mean- hes obviously not a make or break guy but its just so nice to have a decent backup for LeBron because last year they didnt have shit at SF unless they moved Shumpr or JR there for a time. Marion was awful.

Jefferson is a knock down 3 pt shooter and still have a little hops. That was underated pickup it looks like.
