If you are watching the backup guy, you aren't watching the throw. Have you played baseball past little league? What I said is basically what they teach after little league. He could have been NOT aggressive, but that's another argument.

The runner should know that someone will cover that ball and should only go so far from the base. "Oh shit, I didn't think he could make that play" is a poor excuse for getting your ass thrown out to end the inning.

Thrown out by much less than a second. Playing on the edge, yes. Aggressive, yes. Wrong? No.

Or are you going to say that Posey being sent in the 1st inning of yesterday's game was "limited thinking", and not "assessing the situation dynamically" ? Belt wasn't out by three steps, he was out by inches. Had he *really* been caught out by three steps, I'd agree with you. He was aggressive, and great defense caught him.
