That's limited thinking. Again, this is MLB. He needed to assess the situation dynamically, and he should have thought ahead, including the backups. He didn't, and paid for it.It wasn't indecision, it was changing reality. He saw a bad throw and started to advance to be at 3rd with two outs, then saw that the throw had been backed up and he'd be crazy to go to 3rd, so he tried to get back to the base.
