To back up my thoughts on Simmonds with stats, he has just 2 goals in his last 17 games and is a -8 over the same stretch. We used to love this guy, but he has fucking disappeared. I would go as far to say that some of our power play struggles are due to this guy no longer giving a shit.
Yeah it's hard to watch maybe he's protesting a new contract but if so don't make your team suffer earn it. Perhaps he's just done physically either way it's sad...

They could be demoralized every chance ends up in their net meanwhile they can't buy a break. It's again a collective slump. Time to make a trade just to shake it up...

Oooof guys. Oooof.

They just look totally lost out there. Time to start looking at what makes you better next year. 11 points out is too much to climb I think.

I think they ride it out to the deadline though, that’s when returns will probably be at their highest.

I think Simmonds is the guy I wouldn't move anyone young or a prospect. Unless you want a blockbuster???
Well Simmonds has to be moved or we lose him for nothing. Only one on this team to bring blockbuster rewards is Giroux. I really like Roo but if he wants a cup shot it wont be here for awhile, so if you want a big reward he is the real only choice. Would hate to lose a guy like him but sometimes you gotta do whats going to get you the best results.

I feel for ya man, been at some of these games and they make you sad as a fan. Especially when your team never shows up.

I would strongly consider benching MacDonald and calling up Myers too. This kid is probably a better option now and we already have so much young talent with the big club, they might as well learn together with Scott Gordon.

Simmonds and MacDonald are two of our worst performing players and you have A's on their sweaters. These guys aren't leading by example at all. It's a bad look, to say the least.

The problem is not "Who besides Simmonds goes?" The problem is who besides Simmonds can you actually make a deal for?

I don't touch the youth...and I don't consider Ghost Youth. He may set a record for fastest to -20. I would call him fumble boy, but that implies that is young and green and not in his 4th season.

Toronto will want blueline help and is goo goo over Simmonds. They can have either Gudas or AMac and Simmonds. They have to take the package. The other of the Gudas/AMac pairing to Edmonton perhaps? I would seriously consider dealing Voracek or Cooter. I would only investigate dealing Giroux if he was the one who suggested it.

Send Lehtera to the ECHL or better yet, outright him.

I would also send Hart back to the AHL as soon as there is a more veteran (Lyon) healthy alternative. Burning him out at this point isn't going to serve any purpose besides letting him learn how to bounce back from a bad game...frequently.

Agreed I'm not trading G unless he wants out. I'd prefer Jake if you need to but like your idea of Simmonds with a vet dman. Gudas has done well enough to temp someone. AMac they are trying to showcase him but that just makes it worse haha!

Biggest issur with trading Simmonds is to who and for what? We need a stud vet Dman so who has what we need for Simmonds? We also need a goalie who can be a starter and last more than 5 games without an injury, not a lot of options out there.

Toronto would have a three condom load if they could get Simmonds and a legit NHL RHD. Even AMAC might cause dribbles.

We are in a 6 year slump everyone should go besides the young future.
Yea at this point I agree, unless Fletcher goes all out in free agency to become a contender than we might as well go balls out and clean house, yes that includes Roo.
