I'ver read a lot of shit as to why Carter Hart needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap and sent down to the ECHL and protected by his nanny. After I threw up, I thought...well, maybe the AHL? And then...I remembered someone who recently won his 400th NHL game. Marc Andre Fleury. The Flower was in he NHL at 18. He did yoyo back and forth for a couple of years, as much because the Pens were crap as his short comings until he was firmly installed as the #1. Years later, he is on his way to the HOF.

Will Carter Hart be a Hall of Famer? I have no clue, but neither does anyone else. He could be.
Playing him as a 20 year old could destroy him. He could implode. BUT, he regularly has sessions with a sports psychologist and has his head more squarely on his shoulders than most of use posting here. Is he young ... yes. Is he immature? No.

I am leaning towards building up around him as apposed to sending him back down, but I would not be apposed if the correct options presented themselves. After all, Pete Peeters got a taste and then went back down for another year. It is all relative.

If you are watching the World Juniors, are you getting a bit drippy thinking about Morgan Frost?
He is physically slight, but his speed and offensive skills are like Simon Gagne and Pelle Eklund had a child.

Holy shit, G just scored quite possibly the highlight reel goal of the year to tie it at deuces. He stick handles and dekes through Tampa's whole team and dunks it on Vasilevskiy. Made it look incredibly easy.

JvR with perhaps the laziest hockey shift in NHL history sometime in the 2nd period. Woooooof. Still ended up with 2 assists though. He’s paid to put up points and he’s been doing that lately.

Thought Neuvirth actually played pretty well in the segments I watched. (Most is the first and 2nd). Just some ‘controller lost connection’ style defense on multiple occasions.

That G goal was delightful. If you don’t think he’s one of the best players in the league, watch that on repeat until you do.

Really sucks that they suck at OT now. I think that’s 3 of the last 4 that they’ve lost in < 30 seconds.

Neuvy in the net tonight. Guess they don't want Hart to get too shell shocked, although Neuvy probably gets pulled at some point.
I want to talk smack cause he did let in 6 goals, but 4 of those goals were pretty damn nice. A win would've been huge though.

It's truly unbelievable. He draws the puck between his own legs with three defenders all over him and lifts McD's stick seemingly all in one motion, regathers the puck, goes backhand to drag the puck across the top of the crease and slam dunks it forehand past the glove of Vasilevskiy with room inside the post to spare.

I think both teams just got caught watching in awe at the beauty of it as it was basically a 1 on 4 rush from the blue line...Lol Either way, the odds of him doing anything significant on that solo rush were extremely thin.

Yeah, I'm definitely biased, but that's my goal of the year to date...for the whole Nhl, not just our Flyers.

And then gives the puck away 15 seconds into OT, so we can lose 18 seconds into OT.....

He is just as much a crutch to this team as anyone else....

Except he's one of the main reasons the game even went into OT. Tampa is 11-0-1 in December, leading the Nhl with 60 points and 16-4 on home ice. Quite frankly, just getting to OT against them again is a small miracle.

We've been pretty terrible in overtimes this season and all of our top players have been victimized at one time or another. Everything is amplified when it's 3 on 3 because if a pass is even just slightly off or there's a lack of communication, it could result in a critical turnover at a bad time.

I'll still take G on the ice in that spot all night long, every night. 2nd in the Nhl last season in points with 102 and again he's on pace for 100+ points.

That's odd.....he scored to make it 2-2......

Game went into OT at a score of 5-5

It's really not odd. His goal was one of the best solo rushes you'll ever see in the Nhl. He also had an assist, +1 overall, won 55% of his faceoffs and logged almost 24 minutes of ice time.

It's not the ending he wanted or we wanted, but how many games have we lost this season within a minute of the start of OT? This is a slight trend, to say the least.

Giroux isn't the problem with this team, it's to many players MIA on to many nights. We got scoring from players who haven't scored in awhile. I dont know what Roo is averaging point wise a game, but I'm sure it's at least 1 or 1+ and if he keeps it up and the secondary scoring picks up we can score lots of goals. We just gotta hope the hunger grows.

Tampa has pretty much been blowing teams out 5-2, 4-1, 6-3 and 7-1 lately. Their 29-7-2 record overall is absurd. For us to take them to OT twice after being down 3+ goals actually comes off as pretty impressive.

It's not the end we want, obviously, but this is something to gain confidence from and build on. Provy is starting to look a lot more like the monster we know he is too.

Also, it's a small sample size, but we're getting the points we need in the standings since the coaching change.
