God, the officiating is awful tonight. They gift the Panthers a two man advantage via two weak calls and then call nothing the other way the whole period. Weal has stepped in and is dominating right away. Great to see Ghost get one and then keep looking for more. It looks like he and Provy are on the cusp of finally being themselves.

We somehow escape the first period with a 1-0 lead. These are the teams we have to consistently beat in regulation to keep climbing in the standings.

Seems like we are relying on the rookie goalie a little bit too much here lately. I hope we don't hang him out to dry here in the 3rd period. A couple more goals at the other end or at least a great deal of offensive pressure will go a long way toward getting these two points.

It's still early, but Carter Hart does look like the real deal. When we make a mistake, he calmly erases it.

Hung him out to dry. Led about 80% of the game and then leave some guys wide open for slam dunk goals. Nothing Hart can do. He played well enough to earn a shutout, but we didn't take care of the puck enough to back that up. Fucking disgusting to watch in the 3rd period.

Yep not Hart's fault he was solid both goals zero chance. Kept feeling that they needed one more but they sat back for some reason. I will give credit to Reimer as he did make a few fantastic saves... overall this isn't looking good that's a loss they can't afford.

That game was totally on the coach, why would you try to protect a 1-0 game? Hart got shellacked and did a great job in keeping it 1-0, however even I knew it was a matter of time before the enevitible was going to happen. We needed to play way more in their zone and failed badly.

Can someone tell me why Lindblom has a rooster spot? Dude has been MIA all season, why not give his spot to someone who shows up. Same with Raffl?

I feel bad for Awaz they have no luck and every shot hits post and in on their net. Raffl serves a purpose but Lindblom needs ahl fast to gain confidence...

This is without a doubt the worst "Team" that I have seen in a long long time.
I don't know if any of the so called "core" are worth holding on to.

The fact that Fletcher hasn't really done anything tells me that no one wants any of these "players"

Poor Awaz, no way to start the new year lol. Raffl doesn't serve enough purpose to keep IMO. Maybe get a PP person for him in the off season.

I would absolutely trade Simmonds away. If this guy were a manual transmission, he'd be stuck in neutral. Yeah, he had the primary assist on our lone goal, but he was wide open in the slot with the puck on his stick and instead of shooting, he passed it to Jake at a near impossible angle. He glides all around the ice, takes bad penalties and often just looks disinterested in playing. At one point, he kicked the puck in on Neuvy and nearly scored an own goal.

So if we lose tomorrow, and our season is over, what would you like to see happen for the rest of the season? Who else besides Hart could use some seasoning?

He'll be gone soon. No way he gets resigned here.:hope:

Hart definitely gave up a couple goals he'd normally stop tonight, but also the team in front of him often doesn't compete hard enough. The Carolina goal 6 seconds into the second period is a classic example of this. Wtf is Konecny doing on the faceoff and Sanheim/Provy let Martinook skate right through them to score.

To back up my thoughts on Simmonds with stats, he has just 2 goals in his last 17 games and is a -8 over the same stretch. We used to love this guy, but he has fucking disappeared. I would go as far to say that some of our power play struggles are due to this guy no longer giving a shit.

It's frustrating that while down just a goal or two in the second period and everything very much still in doubt, we play like the fucking game is already over.

Yes, Carolina played well defensively in this game, but are we just going to lay down and accept that or are we fucking going to fight back!?
