The difference between this team now and when Hak was coaching is like night and day, as expected. Perhaps Carter Hart factors into that some too, but the effort is there all over the ice now. Guys are finishing checks, forechecking, backchecking, giving second and third efforts. There is pressure everywhere all of the sudden. No chance for the other team to ever feel comfortable.

Against pretty ridiculous odds with all of those penalties against us late in the 2nd, we escape with a 2-1 lead.

Either way, the pressure is on the players now to go out and execute and that's exactly what they are doing.

Didn’t watch tonight, but man what a win. Hart with another good outing, great to see. Sounds like it was a hard fought win against a really good team (albeit undermanned due to injury).

Man oh man the PK! 33 out of their last 38 since they realized pressuring the puck carrier is a good idea. About time! But we’ll take it.

Gordon uses the timeout mid game just to rest his PKers. What a concept. Used Sanheim (!), Hagg, and Coots for 2:03 straight of 5 on 3 as a result.

Sounds like the refs were putrid, even after accounting for my twitter feed that’s pretty biased towards the flyers.

Yep nice win and yep refs were atrocious. They never used to have the balls to make calls like they did tonight. 5-3 kill that seemed to go on forever. Hart with first star two games in a row...sweet!

They look pretty lively to me.

I think it's a complete joke, quite frankly, and the players are beginning to show that now.

Hart has some outstanding numbers through two games, but I don't think he has even been tested much, which speaks to how well we are defending. All in all, these are very encouraging signs.

After last night, if we win a few more games and take care of some upcoming rivals, we pass at least four teams in the standings and are right back in the thick of the playoff hunt.

It's pretty clear to me that while the players may not have disliked Hakstol, his message had soured on them. However you want to put it, they were tuning him out.

Lol at everyones were right back in it talk. Hart has looked good in 2 games against Detroit and a serious banged up Preds squad. He has played great but our defense has made more strides in 2 games then they have all season. Def like what I'm seeing but does it last long term? I see a playoff run as a distant carrot right now and not sure how far we'd go if we made it. Watching the effort now win or lose is all I was asking for as a fan. Either way it's good to see Hart finally get his feet wet abd we can stop hearing aboit the stupid 3 year plan. Also still need a solid Vet dman, Simmer should be able to give us something in that dept when we trade him.

I don't care who was injured, that's a powerhouse team. We were without some of our best players for critical portions of the game too due to the unbalanced officiating.

Without Hakstol and with Hart, I see it to date. Are we bringing Hak back later in the season and sending Hart back to the Phantoms?
