Or better yet keep Sanhiem and bring up Frost as our 3rd C. Just a thought.

Can’t bring up Frost now I don’t think per the CBA. Ship has sailed for this season.

And it was probably the right decision, he looked out a little over his head in preseason.

Ghost and Provorov are the best defensemen the Flyers have. 20 games of struggles doesn’t mean it’s time to put them on the trade block. Jesus guys.

If this board were running the squad we would’ve traded Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Ghost, Provorov, JvR, who do you guys actually want on this team? Any good players? I love Konecny as much as the next guy, but are we really going to build a team around him and Laughton?

Sell low on everyone is a pretty bad way to run a team.
and we would be waaaay better off than we have been the last 6 years.

GM is hard because a lot of them have 0 experience as a GM and nothing to compare it too. They supposedly interviewed Nonis also, which would have been worse. Zito was the other guy mentioned, former agent. But he’s just a total unknown.

I just don’t think Fletcher did all that well in charge of Minnesota. He built a slightly better than mediocre team and kept them slightly better than mediocre. I’m not sure that’s a resume that screams ‘I’ll take the slightly better than mediocre flyers and make them great’

So I don’t really have a ‘preferred option’. There’s just not enough information on potential GM’s available for fans to dissect unless they’re former GM’s.
So it had to be Fletcher by default.

The Hunter brothers were highly recommended but we'll see what Fletcher can do...

Lol. Obviously nothing we can do to prove it, but I disagree strongly.

Not necessarily. I’d hope Homer had more access to GM candidates that us fans did. I’m sure there were many options at his disposal. Fletcher is just who he chose.

In not sure if anyone has brought this up previously, but do you think a trade for Quick would make sense? S he even healthy to play at this point? His cap hit isn't terrible at 5.7 million per I believe. Would you do it?

New Era for the Flyers starts tonight. What do we expect will be different and what can we expect is coming? Thoughts?

Coots is my gut tonight. First goal and Flyers win 5-3.

Good question. Probably deserves it's own thread.

1) Flyers trade picks/prospects for a top 6 forward or top 4 defenseman
2) Stolarz plays reasonably well, but Hak rides a guy into the ground who has barely played in 2 years, and he gets hurt again. If Stolarz plays poorly, substitute Elliot in that statement.
3) Based on #2, this forces the Flyers into an overpay with even more prospects/picks for either an injury prone or borderline starting goalie from somewhere else.
4) Flyers miss the playoffs this year. Hak fired.
5) Significant changes are made in the offseason that involve dealing away even more picks/prospects and handing out a boatload of $$$ in free agency.
6) Flyers make the playoffs in 2019/20 and win 2 rounds. Fans are again hopeful.
7) Lockout in 2020/2021
8) By 2021/22, core proves to be aging and in decline and the Flyers falter. Prospect pipeline is thin. Another half-hearted rebuild follows.

This pretty much sounds about right if Homer would've taken over so im hoping the new GM will prove his worth and turn this thing around rather quickly.
PS I dont like to give stuff its own thread until we get 10K id like everything put on this thread.
