I read a stat this morning that surprised me (if you discount the Gaborik goal last night (goalie pulled for an extra attacker), the Rags have gone over 144 minutes without scoring a 5-on-5 goal). Historically the zebras put away their whistles in a game 7, thus the Caps have to be feeling pretty good about their position right now.

Just heard that the Rags have never lost a game 7 at MSG. Something is going to have to give.

#Becauseitsthecup

Because he's played almost as many games in the playoffs as the regular season

Because he was a rookie phenom whose personality excited people as much as his play

Because even when your play has earned you a likely contract in the $5-10 million range... it never hurts to kiss the coaches ass a little.

Because it's the Cup.

Apparently, NY thinks we lost

NY-Post-Caps-e1336661273755.jpg

NY Post is such a, for lack of a better word, rag.

Did they actually distribute those to people? I heard the story this morning, but I was unclear if they just had a story ready to go (like many papers would), or if people actually received this on the doorstep.

No idea, but you have to think they are starting to jinx themselves. Ads for the next series tickets going on sale on their website before game 5 ( The New York Rangers Think They Already Won The Series ), streamers/confetti after game 5 win, and now this? Combined, that's worse than last years Caps oil painting with the cup.

Oh, and btw, a few stories to add from going out to the bar in the arena last night. It's not the same as going to the game, but it's a HELL of a lot of fun b/c people flood in inbetween periods and it's the same after game crowd as being there.

I actually met two really nice Rangers' fans after the 1st that had been kicked out of the arena and we chatted for a bit. They were cool. Quote from one of them after the game, "I'm pissed we scored at the end, because I'm worried Holtby is due for a shutout."

There was another Rags' fan - tall dude, Ed Hardy T-shirt, very muscley - who was getting kinda pissy in the bar after the game. The bar had a good "Ran...gers Suck" chant going and he lost it and got the boot by the bouncers. On his way out, we changed the chant to "Jer...sey Shore.......Jer...sey...Shore......." It was hilarious.

I feel like a lot of teams sell tickets for the next round before the previous is over. The Caps didn't advertise 2nd round tix (maybe that is another step), but I definitely got an e-mail to buy tix for the 2nd round before we had defeated Boston.

But I REALLY don't understand the confetti/streamers. What the hell is that?
