Props to Ryan Callahan (you gotta love this guy), who gave a great, mature, professional post-game interview... unlike his coach, who stormed off like a little baby because he was asked questions about (gasp) individuals on his team.

Gotta love it, just tell the press to fuck off already!! :heh:

I would prefer that as well but he is just about the most obnoxious humans on the planet

Always respected him. Used to watch him play on the Wolfpack from time to time. Real stand up guy.

I'm starting to think the NHL should put the Rags/Caps series and games on PPV now. I feel like I am stealing great games on free TV.

Woohoo! Way to go Caps!

This is late, I know, but my internet went out immediately after the Chimera goal. Damn you Verizon!

I would say last night was the first time in this series that one team was clearly better than the other. The Caps outhustled the Rags all night and deserved the win. This 2-day break for game 7 is a huge bonus for the Rags.

I would say the rags were pretty clearly better in game 1.

I wonder what would have happened if the Kings had drafted Karl Alzner rather than Thomas Hickey in the 2007 draft ?

…..I know where Dean was going, I love a solid puck-moving D man as much as anyone, but this was a classic case of over thinking something….Also, give the Caps credit for bringing Alzner along slowly; he could have easily stuck as a 3rd pair guy a few years ago, but the Caps instead gave him a lot of work with a good team in the AHL, and it shows…..

Plus, his Twitter pic of his dogs destroying his apartment after the game 3 OT loss is definitely the best Tweet of all time…….

Yeah, Lombardi went way off the board with that selection (I think that was 4th overall in 2007 right?). GMs sometimes fall in love with a guy and obviously that was the situation with Lombardi and Hickey.

I’m looking forward to seeing Hickey get a shot next year though…..Martinez & Voynov developed quite well with a couple years in the AHL, and considering he missed most of his first season, Hickey should be ready…..some people have tagged him a failure because he hasn’t been called up yet, even as a fill-in; but the truth is that the Kings have had relatively few long term injuries on defense the last few years, and for short term injuries Drewiske has filled in just fine….Hickey’s biggest challenge right now is probably just getting a chance….

Several people have said that Voynov's development was the main reason Jack Johnson became expendable...

To the non Rangers/Caps fans, who do we see winning game 7? (Spare me the cliche the team that scores more goals responses)

I read a stat this morning that surprised me (if you discount the Gaborik goal last night (goalie pulled for an extra attacker), the Rags have gone over 144 minutes without scoring a 5-on-5 goal). Historically the zebras put away their whistles in a game 7, thus the Caps have to be feeling pretty good about their position right now.
