So long as you were unhappy when they dumped Miller and Chapman, I have no problems with being happy with this deal.

But if you were on board with selling last year and are on board with buying this year, than you're no better than the "In Bill We Trust" Patriots fans who will applaud any move Belichick ever does.

I'm not biting, keep having your fun with Dirt.

As i just posted, they were behind 9 teams last season for a playoff spot, they are now one of the playoff spots

There was no Sanchez/Frazier and Judge on this roster this time last season, Severino was a disappointing stiff

Last year at this time, and today, are night and day, it seems everyone around baseball realizes that

As far as the Sox:

Sale is amazing
Price has been better

However
Porcello was a CY Young pitcher last year, and a dime a dozen pitcher this season
JBJ and Betts were superhuman for most of last season, and both have dropped off from last season, JBJ big time
Boegarts has given very little in terms of run production
3rd base is a black hole
Pedroia looks every bit the declining offensive player
Benediti cant take the job from Chris F**** Young
Leon and Vasquez
Moreland

Cmon bud, you cant tell me Sale and a better Price is offsetting all of that
They were behind 9 teams total, not 9 teams for a playoff spot.

The Yankees are just 2 games better than they were last year at this point.

So the actual standings shouldnt matter?

Every move they make this summer, should be based solely on where they compare record wise to what they were last year?

I couldnt dis-agree more

Fraudkees copying the 2015 Royals

Too bad their rotation is ass and cant get it into the 6th with a lead.
did you know MLB is considering changing the all star votes back to the players, because of the royals fans?

true story.

I didn't say that, just putting what you said in context.

Jackie Bradley has been better this year than he was last year. He's got the second highest OPS on the team. I'm sorry, but I have no idea where you're getting your information from. It's simply not true.

Pedroia is hitting over .300, having his best season in a long time. Again. No idea where you're getting your information from.

Benintendi is not starting vs LH starters. I'm fine with that. He's two years younger than Judge. Benintendi can flat out play.

it's a different team than last year. And if you're giving me the choice, I'm taking Chris Sale over David Ortiz all day, every day.

Sanchez, Judge and this version of Severino does not make them better than what they were last season?

How is that?

You tell me.

Their win totals are the same. So it couldn't have been as bad last year as you recall.

Cool

We are so rabid, we facilitate change

We also made it so the home team gets a player in the HR derby

Positive change. Unlike Boston and NY bringing roids into the game.

Yes, at the time of the trades, they were behind like 9 teams
Not 9 teams for a playoff spot though. When they traded Chapman they were behind 2 teams for a playoff spot. They are obviously in a better position now, but I'm going to call you out on your exaggerations every time.

I'm just saying. They pivoted their organizational strategy really, really quickly.

Andrew Miller pitched the Indians to game 7 of the World Series last year where he went head to head with Aroldis Chapman.

The Yankees had virtually the same record a year ago and traded away two guys that got their respective teams to the World Series.

A year later and the Yankees are doing the polar opposite. Either you're for the build for the future or you're for the play for now.

The Yankees and Red Sox respective win totals are identical today as they were one year ago.

Identical.

Both teams.

Identical.
Well that's just a pretty dumb argument. For one, it's not true, and through the July 18th game last year the Red Sox had played 90 games as opposed to the 95 games they've played this year. Just look at the standings through the same amount of games.

2016 Yankees: 46-46
2017 Yankees: 48-44

2016 Red Sox: 54-41
2017 Red Sox: 53-42

LMAO

They traded one guy of value who by all estimates you read is a minimum of 3 years away, they have "pivoted their organizational strategy"

And EVERYONE that has no dog in the fight sees them as a far better team than last season

Psssst, because their BP has sucked this season, and they just went out and may have fixed that problem

Yeah so they were behind 7 teams overall and 3 teams for a playoff spot. That's not the same as being behind 9 teams for a playoff spot like you claimed.

Show me where I said the standings shouldn't matter

You posting "They are 2 games better than last year" was completely implying an agreement with this asinine idea that they should treat this deadline just like last season because their record isnt much better
