Great pickup for nyr, i dont care where he is....just not in la

Exactly where I'm at, the Arty Retardy experience ran its course in LA. They blew a very high 2nd round pick on him and it's a shame it didn't work out but pretty much everything that's been said about him pre and post draft has come true. He played himself off the team injury or not, it wasn't the collarbone that prevented him from cracking the lineup, it was his previous 4 years' worth of play.

Like I said, wish him well but I don't see him ever being more than a M6 or B6 player. With guys like Turcotte, Helenius and Thomas making the team there simply wasn't room for him based on what he had shown to date. Don't think anyone but Teh Blog is overly upset he's gone.

Little older rumor but BizNasty saying the Rangers are looking at Miller pretty hard.

I completely forgot he was a 1st round pick by the Rangers. Schneider is a big, young, physical RHD and one of their better defensemen so it makes sense why Drury wouldn't include him in a deal.

Clarke is also a RHD but a different type of player, I'd be curious if Vancouver would be interested in him in a trade for Miller and if Blake would entertain that.

Miller probably to much, Nelson as someone said would be a good fit as well I think

That term is brutal, after this season he still has 5 years/$40 million left and will be 37 when that deal expires in 2030.

That will not age well at all, were I Bowlby I'd see if 50% retention could be had in which case the 1st would be in play but if it's 100% Kings salary no way.

Wouldn't take too much IMO, he's on am expiring contract as a UFA. If he performs maybe s short term deal can be reached, if not he hits the market but I feel he would be a good PO rental for sure.

Focuses on Palmieri, but notes Nelson not off the table. I think Palmieri is good, but he's Underwood, and Kings need to be getting more size.

Im pretty positive whoever he gets isnt what they need

"We have traded our 2025 1st round pick for a player who brings size, speed, skill and a relentless work ethic that fits with the locker room and culture of this team. As we progress through the season on a seemingly fourth consecutive collision course with Edmonton, we full believe this player will help us finally defeat the Oilers in the WCQFs. The LA Kings would like to introduce you to Blake Lizotte".

Palmieri make some sense, with Arvidsson gone the Kings have lacked that RH shot especially on the PP. But he's about the same size as Moore and that isn't what the Kings need. Nelson makes more sense (6'4"/215) but he's a C so he would have to move to wing plus he's a LH shot which the Kings don't really need.

Interesting Bernstein mentioned the need also for a 4C, my thoughts were there as well for Trent Frederic who I mentioned earlier. I would not be surprised if the Kings are in talks with Boston for him.

Thought you were gonna say introducing "Matt Rempe"...but lizard, that sounds on point

Just checking some articles from TA and they're discussing Selke winner candidates:

1. Barkov
2. Reinhart
3. Hischier
4. Cirelli
5. Staal
6. Kopitar
7. Eichel
8. Crosby
9. Marner
10. Stone
11. Matthews
12. Robertson
13. Hintz

Reading that list, I forgot Jordan Staal is still in the league. He's playing 15:20 a game, second lowest of his career minus his rookie season in 2006-07 and still has 9G/15A/24PTS. He's always been solid defensively, not too bad for a 36 year old ij his 19th season.

Robertson is also heating up, 8 goals in his last 10 vs 7 in his first 35. You knew he was going to step it up offensively.

Surprised to see Matthews on that list but hey, Toronto.

Miller trade was in the works this weekend but never made it to the finish line. From TA:

Rangers center Filip Chytil, defenseman Ryan Lindgren and some future-focused assets — the Rangers surprisingly scratched several Hartford Wolfpack players on Saturday, although it was unclear if it was trade-related — including a first-round pick could have been involved. One source briefed on the trade talks indicated that a disagreement on the protection structure of a first-round pick was a key hurdle.

McJesus suspended 3 games for his cross check on Conor Garland. Myers also suspended 3 games for his cross check on Bouchard.

It started against Laferriere last week, then he elbowed Marcus Johansson "accidentally" in the head on a classic Oilers pick play running interference for Draisaitl that wasn't called (Johansson left the game and hasn't played since) and then this cross check, he should consider himself lucky all he got was 3 games.

I am really surprised, but glad to see it. I wonder if the Myers incident helped because the plays were nearly identical. If the league would've given Myers 3 games and McDavid just 1 then the star treatment would've been beyond obvious.

The crap I'm reading is insane, and I'm talking from some well known writers. They're saying yes he lost it and went over the top BUT...and justifying it by saying well he isn't protected.

Huh? This bitchboy has been protected from day one and especially after 2021 when he publicly said they're not calling penalties against opposing players. It's laughable at best.

Ya, everyone (oiler fans) saying the refs shoulda called it dead so Mcjesus wouldnt need to police it himself....its such bs, refs letting the grab ass go with both players and Mcjesus escalated it because they couldnt score and Miller was stomping the Mcjesus show....had Dirty dri buried it but the refs had blown it dead from the grab ass those same Oiler fans would be screaming about the whistle. They cant grasp that Mcjesus can lose, it MUST be fixed, refs, cheating blah blah blah

I can't remember who it was but I think it was McJesus' rookie or second year and someone shaved him from behind into the boards and ge broke his collarbone and was gone for some time. Need more of that from some players (not injuring him, being physical with him) so he shuts the hell up and the entitlement goes away.
