Exactly where I'm at, the Arty Retardy experience ran its course in LA. They blew a very high 2nd round pick on him and it's a shame it didn't work out but pretty much everything that's been said about him pre and post draft has come true. He played himself off the team injury or not, it wasn't the collarbone that prevented him from cracking the lineup, it was his previous 4 years' worth of play.
Like I said, wish him well but I don't see him ever being more than a M6 or B6 player. With guys like Turcotte, Helenius and Thomas making the team there simply wasn't room for him based on what he had shown to date. Don't think anyone but Teh Blog is overly upset he's gone.
I completely forgot he was a 1st round pick by the Rangers. Schneider is a big, young, physical RHD and one of their better defensemen so it makes sense why Drury wouldn't include him in a deal.
Clarke is also a RHD but a different type of player, I'd be curious if Vancouver would be interested in him in a trade for Miller and if Blake would entertain that.
That term is brutal, after this season he still has 5 years/$40 million left and will be 37 when that deal expires in 2030.
That will not age well at all, were I Bowlby I'd see if 50% retention could be had in which case the 1st would be in play but if it's 100% Kings salary no way.
