Ok... it’s time to get serious about TWO certitudes regarding 49ers QBs

QB A has been in the league 5 years and has started a total of ONLY 10 games. Has zero league wide awards and zero playoff experience.

QB B has been in the league 3 years and has started ALL 48 games since joining the league. He has won ROY and has played in the playoffs and won.

Only a homer would say QB A is better than QB B.

And for good measure let’s add in this FACT:

QB A is coming off of major reconstructive knee surgery while QB B is not.

I'm not sold on Jimmy Gaparprapprproollol at all. Yes he had some impressive games when he started... against TERRIBLE teams and a Rams team that was resting everyone. I don't understand the 49ers hype/love. When everyone was expecting the 49ers to compete for a wild card last year and Seattle go to 4-12 or 5-11 with a top 5 PROVEN QB, I thought I was in the Twilight zone.

Montana played in a time when it was still legal to hit the QB and play defense. So I think Brady's longevity might have something to do with that (they actually changed the rules when Brady tore an ACL). It also didn't help that Joe played during 2 strike seasons...

I'd bring up the cheating, but Jerry Rice was a cheater for 2 of Joe's SB seasons, too. Sooooooo... :(

2 different eras, but you're still probably right.

But Dak over Jimmy? :pound: 100% of Cowboys' fans on earth would trade Dak for Jimmy in 0.85 seconds.

Jimmy
has a 19.7% chance of winning a SB if he plays for 10 more years. Dak has 0% chance of winning a SB if he plays 100 more years.

So the 5 jimmy got then were canton worth and 120 million worthy? Think about ur own comments

Jimmy's lost what... 1 start in his entire career? 2 if you count the ACL game? He has enough playing time to show that he can run an offense well. You'll never hear me say he's going to be a great QB, but he's at least a good one.

Anyone who says "Nick Mullens" and "success" in the same sentence is on something.

And I agree he is and will be good for the record

8-1 as a starter (8-2 if you count the ACL game). You can tell when a guy folds under the pressure in a close game (see Alex Smith), and you can see when a guy just doesn't know how to pick apart a defense (see Dak Prescott). Jimmy is cool under pressure & at least good at exploiting what defenses give him.

We're not comparing Jimmy G to f***ing Drew Brees here. We're comparing him to Dak. There's no comparison.

For the record, anyone who's getting excited about Nick Mullens (and they're out there) is a goldfish. The guy sucks.

Journeyman backup at best who gets a few starts here and there at best. His dream scenario is a Fitzpatrick.

Looks can be deceiving. Mullens (they call him BDN) is nothing special.

Perhaps. Maybe the sample size is too small to know, one way or another. I'm not saying he's gonna be an all-pro, but he might just be more serviceable than ya think
