Arizona probably has the worst OL, TE, and WR corps in the league.

Far and away the best scenario is to trade down 2-5 spots, keep Rosen, and get more picks. Murray might be a good QB but not with zero talent around him.
Rosen got sacked 45 times last year, 7th in the league:

So Murray is def gonna be taking some hits. Also, I guess some are comparing him to Russ, stature-wise. But RW is still an inch taller and 20+ lbs. heavier.

QB going at the top of the draft feels a bit like when Bradford went #1 over Suh and Gerald McCoy. You're almost undoubtedly passing on pro bowl defensive players when you're drafting a QB here.

But I totally get Arizona doing a smokescreen. Trade down, pick up your OT prospect, pick up at least an extra 2nd rounder, hit up the talent at TE, G/C and WR in rd2 and rd3.

I wouldn't mind CAR going with someone like Grier or Finley in the mid-rounds. Take a chance on developing them as a project. I think Cam will return, but his best days are behind him.

anyone remember goff vs wentz.

goff at 215 was thought to be lanky and frail and an injury risk

wentz at 245 was a big strapping rock

that worked well

cam newton is huge.....that works well

joe flacco is the prototypical size.......that works well

i think its more about playing style.....

Me. It goes to talent. If I could beg your indulgence for a minute as I'm talking hockey.

As a Season ticket holder to the local major junior pro hockey team for since their expansion season.

Four years ago we took a kid by the name of Matthew Phillips.

He is 5'5 and 1?? Pounds but...

These are the numbers he put up:

15-16: 37 goals and 39 assists
16-17: 50/40
17/18: 48/64

Now with those numbers....

If he had size. He be the first overall pick right????

Can someone Google him and me when he was picked, PS: I already know the answer

He may turn out to be a great QB.

I wouldn't be the GM to bank on him being the first ever successful 5'10" QB, though

because, assuming this isn't all a smokescreen from Arizona, I don't see any way he can have any success with that franchise. the offensive line is going to take at least 2-3 more seasons to rise up and become adequate enough for ANY quarterback to thrive, let alone an undersized rookie. and, as was mentioned previously, their receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired. And, again, i don't see him becoming a high-end passer from the pocket, which is what he'll need to be, in order to be "big-time", and not just some schlub. i think his instinct to run is too strong, and i'm not so sure that the arizona cardinals will be that team to break that tendency.

Now, if he were to go to a team with a solid quarterbacks coach, a top-shelf o-line, and various legitimate options from the skill positions, then perhaps he excels. but as things now stand, and based off the rumors we're hearing with arizona, i can't see it.

"b-b-b-but why, what's the rationale???"

ok go be a dick? was calling someone else out for not having anything. and yes i can see all those reason u posted. WHat if he does somewhere else?does he have a chance to succeed.

yeah cause i mean rosen and murray are definitely similar in terms of mobility

i'm being a dick because you're in your little "devil's advocate" mode for the sake of arguing with people. for some reason, kyler murray makes your dick hard and you can't take it when people tell you he's not going to be that good.

not really devils advocate when the its a blanket statement with no backing............its more give me a fn' reason. very nice try though, ive already stated he may not make it........but you knew that, since your puffing your chest.

because people will give you a reason for their opinion, like for instance his lack of pro qb size, and then you'll say, "buh'wuddabout drew brees/russell wilson/etc etc etc", and then start going off on some bs nonsense about "it'th a new NFL, guyth! running quarterbackth are the wave of the fuuuuturrrrre!", which anybody with eyeballs and a brain and eyeballs knows is nonsense.

If everyone's concern is the OL you'd be better off taking Murray as he's far faster , quicker and elusive than Rosen. Lots of teams have bad OL play , not many have QBs who can mask that bad play . It's It's still least 2 years to fix Arizona's OL and by that time you'll need to move on from Rosen anyway and you'll get farrrr less for him then than you would now .

That said this is likely a ploy to get better trade offers

Not a chance this is legit. This early in March? Heck, most things you hear a week out from the draft turn out to be false. No way this is a done deal. Not saying they won't do it, but there is no way the decision is already made.

His durability in relation to his size wouldn't be much of a concern to me as long as he's smart about taking care of himself when he runs.

With all the protections QBs have these days they just really don't take enough of a beating to where their size would play much of a role in their durability.

Oddly enough going to the Cardinals into the NFC West might be one of the worst divisions for him to land due to Russell Wilson because the other defenses in the NFC West are better accustomed to dealing with small elusive QBs. RW tends to have more middling games against the NFC West because those defenses usually are able to manage his elusiveness better compared to other teams outside the division.

yup. its about playing style. Cam, wentz, ben, and more are all a nice size, and always hurt
