This a game that I hope to see an end of the stupid penalties. I keep waiting each week.

The Cardinals have a good D, but they are also getting worn out a bit. My guess is our Oline will be without Veldheer and Leary. That said I am hoping to see the Broncos score board read in the 30s.

If we win Vance is safe until the bye, if we lose I think it might be it for him.

Hard to care about 2018 Broncos with so much of 2017 in 2018. We are wasting Von and CHJ with this dumpster fire.

The most frustrating thing about this team for me is that they compete pretty hard against the good teams and fall flat against the bad ones (Jets). All we heard coming out of camp this summer is that Keenum is accurate and smart. In the last couple of games, he's missed wide open receivers by a mile. We've had plenty of opportunities to win games if Keenum would simply have made the easy throws. I can understand being off a couple feet here and there with the passing game but is it just me or has Keenum missed some targets by 10 yards or more? Frustrating when the receiver gets clear separation and our QB can't him him.

I was thinking about going to this game. Now... not so much. Glad I won't be wasting my money. Joe Woods needs to be gone. Vance needs to be gone. We aren't going anywhere with those guys here. Woods took one of the most talented Ds in the league and has turned them into complete garbage. Very sad state we're in. Only solace is that AZ is as in as a bad a situation as we are, so if we lose to them, it could very well spell the end of the Joseph era in Denver.

This team is close to being very good, and close to competing for the #1 overall pick. Hard to believe that 1 or 2 plays in each game make such a big difference. If Sanders doesn't get the the taunting penalty we might be celebrating a Broncos win this morning. Too many stupid penalties.

I am not sure what it is with the Broncos, but since they won the Super Bowl there has been something that has been off. Joseph probably doesn't make it get a 3rd year at this point, but I am not sure how how to get a good head coach. Obviously this is an issue across the NFL. The list is long of teams that are trying, and sadly Denver will probably join that crowd in January.

I missed last week in giving the ranks of both teams but I will bring it back for this week.

Denver Broncos:
Total Offense: 12th with 387.7 yards per game.
Rushing: 10th with 124.2 yards per game.
Passing: 16th with 263.5 yards per game.
Scoring: 26th with 20.0 points per game.

Total Defense: 27th with 403.8 yards per game.
Rushing: 32nd with 161.3 yards per game.
Passing: 11th with 242.5 yards per game.
Scoring: 21st with 25.7 points per game.

Turnover Differential: Tied at 23rd with -2.

Arizona Cardinals:
Total Offense: 32nd with 220.5 yards per game.
Rushing: 32nd with 64.0 yards per game.
Passing: 31st with 156.5 yards per game.
Scoring: 31st with 13.7 points per game.

Total Defense: 24th with 394.3 yards per game.
Rushing: 31st with 151.2 yards per game.
Passing: 12th with 243.2 yards per game.
Scoring: Tied at 13th with 23.2 points per game.

Turnover Differential: Tied at 13rd with +1.

Until looking at the stats here I had no idea the Defense has fallen so far. Kind of odd to think of the Offense being the strength of the team, and while I do not believe that to be true, that is what the statistics seem to say.

This is a game where the Broncos need to take care of the ball and get after the rookie QB. Make the Cardinals win by passing. David Johnson is the one guy who we can't let beat us on Thursday night given the last 2 games. I give a little pass on the the Rams game because their Passing game is dynamic and then some. There is no pass on the Jets game.

^ no pass on the Jets game for sure! They were averaging under 90 yards per game before they gashed our so called top tier run defense. Of course the run defense is nearing historic bad levels at this point.

How does this team wind up ranked dead last in run defense?

It's pathetic.

500+ yards rushing in 2 weeks is a good start to the last place rush defense ranking.

Through the first 3 games of the season - Hawks, Raiders, Ravens - the Broncos were giving up 78 yards per game on the ground ..

Von is very confident going into the Thursday Night game. He claims they are going to bring their best and the Cardinals better bring their best. Von claims the Broncos are going to kick their ass.

Love the mindset, but maybe giving the the Cardinals bulletin board material is not what a 2-4 team with 4 straight losses needs to do.

Interesting, yet depressing stat from Walterfootball's power rankings this week:

Also, the Broncos play on the road this week, so I'd like to once again post Joseph's road track record:

1-8 straight up, 1-8 against the spread.

Denver's sole road victory under Joseph has been at Indianapolis in Week 15 last year when the Jacoby Brissett-led Colts were playing a Thursday game coming off a grueling overtime battle against Buffalo. Indianapolis was competitive early, but simply ran out of gas

The Broncos have been outscored by an average margin of 27.8-14.6 on the road. In fact, only one of their eight losses has been decided by single digits, which was a 21-14 defeat at Oakland last year.

Just curious. When's the last time a D gave up back to back 200+ yds rushing to two running backs ? This team is toast. A new GM would be good for starters. He has no idea drafting Qbs, etc or finding a quality HC or any coach really. As long as Elway is GM, this team is going to be consistently dismal.

I'll take that one step further. Not having a clear and direct owner in place to run things has hurt this team more than anything. I'd venture a guess that sometime last season Mr. B would have given John and the front office a directive; get your head on straight, or get it cut off.

Lack of accountability is running rampant on this team, and it starts from the top.
