Defense failed at end there but 3rd and 4th stringers playing against 3rd and 4th stringers don’t mean much.

Biggest takeaway will be the kicking and the 3 missed FG’s. Obviously we know the field in Arizona sucks so it’s not time to pull the plug on either of these guys yet but they’re on a short leash.

Of course the talking point online already is how we shouldn’t have given up on McManus as if people completely forget how he played last year. McManus was 77% last year he wasn’t reliable. He hasn’t had a season over 84% in 6 years and 3 of those he was 80% or under.

Even Prater missed one tonight and almost missed an extra point. Yeah not a great field to be kicking on, but still the idea of 9 points being taken off the board. That is the difference between being a top-10 offense and bottom-5 offense.

Normally I'd say not to panic since it's just week 1 of the preseason. But the last few seasons have been all the same story: "It's week 1 of preseason, don't expect the team to look like this in the regular season!" Only for them to look awful in the regular season. What makes this year different?

All off season I've had a hard time believing even Sean Payton could turn around last year's dumpster fire and make a playoff team out of the Broncos. Because it's the NFL I have always maintained that hope, but I've not had any certainty about it. I truly have no idea what to expect this year out of the Broncos. Russell Wilson looked so pathetic last year it's hard to truly know was it the coach? Will he rebound with better coaching?

Last night the team didn't look great. Wilson didn't complete a pass for a TD until after the Cardinals were on their 2nd and 3rd stringers. O line looked about as good as they did last year. I'm on the fence about this. I don't want to jump on the bandwagon and write this off as a 6 win season just yet. But the way preseason typically works, you can't get too excited if you look good. But if you look like crap, you might be in for a long season.

We saw some good, bad and ugly.

I don't care much about losing with the 4th stringers. Yet I think it would be nice to see this team start somewhere with bringing the winning culture back.

You learn a lot more about yourself when you lose then when you win so I will chalk this one up as a good experience to use towards improving.

We did some good things and we looked sloppy too. Typical first preseason game under a new coach. This was pretty expected.

If our Oline doesn't play better than they did tonight against a garbage Arizona DL we are in for a very long season and the kicking game won't matter period. Hope to see improvement through the pre-season, but not holding my breath.
