Even Prater missed one tonight and almost missed an extra point. Yeah not a great field to be kicking on, but still the idea of 9 points being taken off the board. That is the difference between being a top-10 offense and bottom-5 offense.
Does the offense get credit for FG's made? We haven't had a top 10 ST group in I don't know how long. Only difference is now we've got proven coaches and more equitably paid ST specialists.

I'm all for bringing in punt god and about 15 kickers from Tik Tok and seeing what we come up with if this continues.

They count in the sense of offense is usually given points per game stat so any missed field goals is a shot against the offensive output. And depending on the circumstances one could argue the offense at least got the special teams unit in position to make a field goal.

If our Oline doesn't play better than they did tonight against a garbage Arizona DL we are in for a very long season and the kicking game won't matter period. Hope to see improvement through the pre-season, but not holding my breath.

I am going to guess our kicker still isn't on our roster.

I mean for crying out loud at this point I would take Mason Crosby's range of 40 yards over missing XP's and chip shots with a sprinkle moment of making a 50 plus.

Fry had a better night then Maher. One PS game but we should be concerned about our kicking situation. Maher hasn't been good for awhile and Fry is more of a "injury replacement" kicker.

I figured for sure the Dolphins would cream the Falcons last night. You know.. The Dolphins have a great team and made it further then the Falcons last year so that surely means they should crush them in the PS game, right?

;)

I mean the same with the Bengals... A season removed from the AFC Championship against the Packers who missed the playoffs and lost Aaron Rodgers Clearly the Bengals would have been motivated to crush the Packers last night. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN THE NFL? What a wild start to the 2023 season.

You really don't want to take that bet against a guy that literally does this for a living and probably watches more games than the rest of us combined. You just brought a knife to a gun fight and lost.

Honestly not too worried at this point about the starting units. Defensively they did just fine and that was without their 2 best players on defense and another couple of starters and really a very vanilla play calling.

Few of the defenders really impressed me along the way. Cooper/Bonitto both look like they have added about 10-15 lbs. of muscle without losing much explosion. If Clark and Browning can get healthy that could be a really dangerous unit. DL has me a bit worried as the backups got pushed around quite a bit against 2nd and 3rd string OL players. Hoping this game maybe lit a fire for the FO to start looking hard for some depth.

Offensively the OL was obviously very inconsistent. Bolles got pushed around on a few plays and looks like he is struggling to establish a base allowing himself to get pushed around.

Nice thing is the WR's were getting a lot of separation in this one. If the blocking can hold up even to an average level the offense should be at least decent. Wilson looked accurate when given a chance. Going to be interesting to see what happens once Payton starts actually game planning plays to beat defenses.

Did you notice after the game our QB1 and QB2 not make eye contact at all when they walked by each other.

LOL- What?

Did our LS and K make eye contact?

George never made eye contact with me when he was cooking my hamburger. He must hate me.

Just got done watching a breakdown by a couple of ex-NFL QB's on the game Russ had. Both at the end agreed that there was more positive than negative to glean from the game for Russ. It wasn't perfect by any means and some missed opportunities for one reason or another, but still good to see some good movement as the game went on. Both also commented on already seeing some of the Payton influence setting things up for some big plays. Also Broncos were so close on a couple of big plays that were just missed. The Perine drop on the shovel pass. He had a good 20 yards and 3 blockers in front of him if he catches that pass.
