The Heat initial offer WAS not 20 million yearly. I have no idea where you're getting this info from.

From the reports back in July, the initial was for about 10 mil yearly. If that is not spitting in the face of a player of Wade caliber then I honestly don't know what is. They thought they could low-ball Wade with the initial offer. Let's not forget this was a man who basically took pay cut after pay cut throughout his career in Miami.

Where were these pay cuts you keep talking about?

- His first contract he made as much money as he possibly could.
- When the Big 3 signed, they all wanted the max and asked Riley what other vets they're bringing in. Lebron had to break down simple math to them and how the salary cap works. So they all skimmed enough off the top. Wade sacrificed a bit more for UD. Still signed a $100 mil contract over 6 years.
- Opts out of contract where he would've made over $20 mil that year so that Lebron could get the max. Lebron dips out (without telling his boy and costing him money).
- Wade figures he'd get that money back. But Bosh's agent pushes the max for Bosh (who shares the same agent as Wade) and gets a majority of the pie for Bosh.
- Wade does a 1-year contract
- His last year in Miami he makes the max.

Don't know about the $10 mil per year being true or not, but they still offered him $20 mil. It sounds like Riley wanted Wade gone honestly. But you can quit it with that Wade always sacrificed. Winning titles helps these guys' brands as well. You think Lebron is worth as much as he is if he's still ringless? You think Jordan Brand is what is it without titles? How about Kobe?

what was the original offer...?

1 yr/10 mil. There are multiple sources around the league who said the Heat did indeed offer 10 million back in July so I'm assuming it's true.

ESPN reported last week that initial, unofficial talks about his new contract have not gone well and he intended to be available to the rest of the league as a free agent. The Vertical reported that multiple teams went after Wade with multi-year offers starting at $20 million annually, while the Heat’s first proposal was $10 million for one year.

At this point does it matter? Wade missed a shit ton of games during the Big 3 era and he's missing games in Chicago as well. Don't see him sacrificing his pay check for games that he misses.

Riley offered him 20 mil at the last minute. He didn't make Wade a priority. Wade was already pissed off because almost the same thing happened in 2015. You get to a point where enough is enough. He was tired of Riley taking him for granted but like you said, Riley probably wanted him gone

Both sides said there was no direct communication.
Riley said he tried, but was told to deal with Thomas.
Who knows what the real truth is, or the reasons behind them?

I don't believe for one second that Riley would seriously offer him less then 10M year 1, unless it was backloaded in later years or was for more years then they thought he could be effective.

Regardless, Wade IMO showed more loyalty to James, then he did Riley, which I'm guessing didn't sit well.

We do know that in the end, Riley offered him 10M more then Wade wanted the previous summer, and he turned it down.

While I have nothing against Wade, I don't miss him at all, and there's no doubt him being gone has allowed others to grow their game.

Once Bosh was done, and it was a foregone conclusion, then it made total sense to part with Wade.

Basically this rant just proved Barkley's point in case- a whiney cry baby.

This Thursday night, after they play the rant (you know they will), Sir Charles should just say "Thanks for proving my point Lebron."

Stop avoiding the point we're making. He doesn't know how to HANDLE himself in adversity. Simple as that.

Yup ... let's say he was facing adversity with his team down 3-1 in the NBA Finals. He would throw his teammates & coaches under the bus and just give up.

At least there isn't a "feud" between him and his All-Star teammates -- and his Hall of Fame coach writing really bad things about him in a book.

Yet another lie from you. What the hell is wrong w/ you? It's commonly known throughout Akron who LeBron's father was.

No shit. Everyone knows it's Delonte West.

LeBron seems very insecure.

Got off the phone with my mom on Saturday and she has cancer in her pancreas and liver.....the news shook me. She's been fighting breast cancer for 20-plus years and it looks like it has turned up in other parts of her body now.

Destroyed my weekend.

Really sorry to see this. My thoughts and prayers to Mama DJ.

Can you blame him? I'm sure you wouldn't sacrifice your pay check if you were in his situation.

some guys can be happy and complacent with losing- while other guys are ALWAYS hungry for more....Its why LeBron will be #2 of all time before all is said and done- because he is never satisfied- never complacent...he keeps pushing the envelope.

some guys just dont care if they are getting their brains bashed in 2 out of every 3 games....which...hey...cool for them--- drawing a paycheck makes them happy enough.

You win stupidest post of the day again!! Congrats.

*EDIT: Sorry, Shane beat you.
