guys settle out of court for huge sums of money all the time for no apparent reason.

whether he was guilty or not- settling was the right move---

he was indicted by a grand jury and was set to go to trial until he "settled" and the alleged victim refused to testify afterwards.

If I was Kobe and a grand jury indicted me and my life was potentially on the line- i would have settled too if i had the cash like Kobe.

In fact, I once got banned from tHoop for starting a poll/thread where the title was "unorthodox cross-sport athlete comparison." The body was something like, both athletes have championships and are considered to be amongst the best ever at their respective sports, but who's a better rapist, Kobe Bryant or Ben Roethlisberger.
