Zeke sent out a tweet today chastising Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey for skipping their teams bowls to prepare for the NFL.

"I'd give anything to be able to play one more game with my brothers in the Scarlet and Gray" said Zeke....

Zeke left after his junior year. Missing potentially 14 games with his "brothers". Oh Ezekiel.....

Ask Willis Mcgahee about playing in meaningless bowl games

Skipping bowl games is the next front the college athletes taht want to get paid will use. "if you aren't paying us, I'm not jeopardizing my future income".

Can't say I blame em. Players will start to realize the amount of leverage they have soon enough. That will be the end of the NCAA, at least over CFB.

Never mind. Carry on!

LOL

Still worth noting though, what could happen to a guys career

Mcgahee was never as good as he could have been because of that injury

Two questions:

1. Is he chastising them for leaving college early or for skipping the bowl games?

2. Did Elliot play in his team's bowl game last year?

I don't know. What's a College education at a big university now, about $200K plus??? That's getting paid IMO...

Skipping the bowl games and yes. However don't include the sappy "I'd give anything" line because that's verifiably false lol

You can still go back as you have one more year of eligibility. Put your money where your big mouth is and do it.

I think it's a reach to give him crap for that. He started his junior year and he finished it. He was never coming back for his senior season and everyone knew it. Now...these two guys started their junior years and now they're bailing on their teammates.

I smell what the Zeke is cooking.

Well we will have to disagree again man. If you say you'd "give anything to play one more game" when you skipped on playing 12-15 more I just gotta call BS. If his tweet was solely about missing the bowl game I'd be with him. It'd be like LeBron hating on Durant for chasing a ring

No he can't. His eligibility ended when his status as an amateur ended.

There's a big difference between leaving after your junior year and sitting out a bowl game. If you're a projected first round pick, you'd be a fool to come back for your senior season, especially as a running back. Really, and truly, I can't believe Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are both returning to Georgia for their senior seasons, while neither would have gone in the first round, both would have been drafted this season.

But if you're on the team, in good standing, you should play until either you run out of eligibility or until the end of the season that you declare for the draft.

Right...and if they weren't also skipping their senior seasons, I would probably agree with you. He's clearly talking about finishing the year they started with their teammates.

In his defense...he did at least finish his season, bowl game included. These dudes aren't even trying.

People underestimate the concept of team chemistry and bonds with teammates. To skip out on your brothers in a postseason bowl game just doesn't sit right to me.
