I lived and worked in Nome for just over three months hanging iron but that was during the summer months. I like Nome a lot .... just not to live there. I also lived in Dillingham, AK for three and a half years and that's fly in only and that sucked balls. $12 for a gallon of milk and $6 for a loaf of bread.

Oil field project in Nome? I work in the oil patch up here ... Prudhoe Bay / North Slope. Not much going on in Nome tmk though in regards to oil.

The thing about the design of this was they used all pinned connections. Not one moment connection in the entire design ! Even the column base plates were pinned....2 bolts !

I bled red all over their drawings and re-designed most of the steel connections.

It was the North Slope. This was in '95 or '96.

Sweet -- if we can use past rankings -- even though MSU is 2-7, they were ranked like 7th in the country earlier this year. Add that to the quality win column for UM.

We can add another quality win against Iowa this week. Doesn't matter they lost to North Dakota State and they are 5-4. They were once ranked 11th in the country.

This is why preseason rankings are a joke. Wait till midseason and release the 1st ranking once we've actually watched the teams play. Then you won't have teams like FSU ranked 4th in the country, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Michigan State ranked 10th, 11th and 12th -- I believe their combined record is 8-20 on the year.

Remember when Texas was back because they beat ND?

If Washington is a fraud they will lose before the final and no one is hurt by it.

The system attempts to give the 4 most deserving teams a chance to go prove they are the best. There can be a huge disparity within that top 4 and teams that are actually better can get left out. That's the system we have.

As long as we have this watered down product with most teams playing all these lame ass nobody teams in their out of conference there will always be teams that make it through that aren't nearly as tested as some others. So what? That's the system. Deal with it.

As it proved last year. There was a pretty good gap between the top two (Bama & Clem) and the other two (Sparty and Bama). Big disparity IMO.

I disagree. Penn State may be ranked in the top 10, but they are not "a top 10 team" IMHO. The Buckeyes played like shit that night and would have lost to several schools playing like that. Had they played last Saturday, the Buckeyes would have killed them similar to the Corn Aggies. Again, JMO.
